We gave up on this the first ep when Sagat said 'aunt robin'
Let me know if they ever pull their act together.

I saw the cliffhanger. I actually have the DVR set for this. What the
hell, it can't be worse than Trek Enhanced. :-D
What would "pulling their act together" entail? I find the show funny,
smart (not in a "Frasier" way but in that they don't go for the easy
sex joke like most other sitcoms), and the characters well-rounded and
extremely likable. We've had this discussion before but it's still
amazes me that someone would (1) expect a show meant to go at least
four years to live up to the title in the first episode and (2) judge a
comedy by whether it lives up to the premise instead of by whether it's
funny.
> "THE CLASS" (CBS - new!)
Grade: F This show was horrible. I couldn't even sit through the whole
thing. Yes, I know that means my opinion doesn't count...I should watch for
3 episodes...or at least one whole one...but this show sucked. That gives
me a half hour to leave the TV off Monday night.
> "STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP" (NBC - new!)
Grade: B+ The show crammed a lot of stuff in the first episode so it was a
bit choppy...and like Men In Trees it crammed in way to many personal
problems with the characters. Still, the cast is fantastic and already
seems to mesh perfectly. This could have been the season 3 premiere instead
of a brand new show. NBC has a bonnafide hit.
> The six returning series are:
> "How I Met Your Mother" (CBS)
Grade: A I missed seeing this show develop during repeat season. Now, it
is back and better than ever. The cast clicks and the plotline is gaining
interest as they move farther away from the 'how I met your mother' title
and more into the lives of all the characters.
> "Two and a Half Men" (CBS)
Grade: C This show just isn't particularly funny. Loser guys, mean
ex-wives and stupid child. The only good characters and the stalker
neighbor and the maid. Without them, this show would get a D.
> "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (CBS)
Grade: B This show still suffers from a weak supporting cast (useless
brother character just like on Joey and a bunch of lesser interest
sidekicks). Still, Dreyfuss carries the show all on her own and carries it
well. The new addition (teacher) is a definite cast improvement over the
old teacher that was nearly identical in character to the two disapproving
mothers. I hope the 'new Christine' is gone too, but the episode
sidestepped where that plotline will go. Hopefully, he can get a new
girlfriend that has more depth...rather than being yet another
interchangeable character like the two disapproving mothers.

That's another thing, they've clearly moved away from the original
premise. Saget still narrates but they long ago stopped showing him
telling the story to the kids.

I assume that you've yet to watch tonight's episode.
I saw tonight's episode. I heard Saget narrate. I didn't hear anything
that indicated the 'How I Met Your Mother' title was integral to any part of
the plot in the episode. What did I miss?

It wasn't.

This isn't a huge spoiler, but I'll leave some space anyway.

I don't know what you missed (if anything), but the opening scene
"show[ed] him telling the story to the kids" for the first time in a
while.
Future Ted: "Okay, where were we? It was June of 2006, and life had
just taken an unexpected turn."
Daughter: "Dad, can't you just skip ahead to the part where you meet
Mom? I feel like you've been talking for like a year."
Future Ted: "Honey, all this stuff I'm telling you is important. It's
all part of the story."
Son: "Could I go to the bathroom?"
Future Ted: "No."

I know it's been said many times, many ways, but I'll say it once
again: what the fuck? I mean, whoah. Were they on acid or was I?
Somewhat more seriously, I believe that those were the second (and
presumably last) actor to play Raymond Caine Sr.[1] and the _third_
to play Ray Jr. (Hey look, it's Idiot Boy from "Surface," freshly
escaped from a "House" episode! I'm sure he tries hard and all, but
why does he still have a career?)
1: At least the producers respected the audience enough to gunk up
Ray Sr.'s face so thoroughly with blood and grime in his only
scene that it could have been Dean Winters under there after all.
Oh, and no letter grade. How can anyone grade The Mighty Horatio?

Picture poor poor pitiful me. This was the first time I watched CSIM
all the way through.

Yes, I was SO hoping the baloons would burst and he'd be found dying in
agony. I hated that they went for an unhappy ending instead.

Is 'zero' a letter?
Exactly - YOU CAN'T 'GRADE' THE HORATIO!!!11!11!!!
From what I saw, this episode was bombastically crap-tacular to, like,
the 10th power! Just what I've come to expect and love from this show!!
So that's my grade. :)

I haven't seen this one yet but I saw the preview that was posted on
usenet a few months ago. Not the worst show ever but definitely not
good.

Picks up nicely where it leaves off.
A-

Also picks up where it leaves off. But without Julia Louis Dreyfus,
it's just another CBS sitcom.

Wait - we're watching it BECAUSE it's bad? This wasn't an anomoly?
This is SUPPOSED to be like JADE?????
