Luke Wilson, Diane Ladd join HBO pilot
Duo cast opposite Laura Dern in the comedy 'Enlightened'

Luke Wilson and Diane Ladd are set to star opposite Laura Dern in her
HBO comedy pilot "Enlightened."
Also cast in Mike White's single-camera pilot are Amy Hill as a
regular and Charles Esten as a recurring.
The project stars Dern as Amy, a self-destructive woman who after a
meltdown has a spiritual awakening and becomes determined to live an
enlightened life, creating havoc at home and work.
In his first regular TV gig, Wilson will play Levi, Amy's unkempt
ex-husband who has a drug problem.
Dern's real life mom, Ladd, will play Amy's mother, who takes in her
daughter as a house guest after her crisis.
Hill will play the head of human resources at Amy's workplace. Esten
will play Amy's boss and former lover who triggers her meltdown when
he has her transferred.
Wilson's only significant TV appearance was a recurring role on Fox's
comedy "That '70s Show," in which he played the older brother of
Ashton Kutcher's character. The CAA-repped Wilson next appears in the
feature comedy "Death at a Funeral."
Ladd and Dern have co-starred together in nine feature and TV movies,
including the 1991 film "Rambling Rose," which earned them Academy
Award noms -- the first time a mother and daughter received Oscar noms
for the same movie.
"Enlightening" also marks the fifth time Ladd will play Dern's
onscreen mother following the features "White Lightning" (1973), "Wild
at Heart" (1990), "Citizen Ruth" (1996) and "Daddy and Them" (2001).
Hill ("Couples Retreat") is with SMS Talent. The Stone Manners-repped
Esten recurred last season on HBO's "Big Love."
Wilson, Ladd, Hill and Esten join previously cast regular Sarah Burns.

Casey Wilson, Jessica Walter among those in 'Retired at 35'

TV Land has assembled the cast of multicamera pilot "Retired at 35."
Johnathan McClain, "Saturday Night Live" alum Casey Wilson and
veterans Jessica Walter and Christine Ebersole have landed starring
roles opposite previously cast George Segal.
"Retired" follows David (McClain), a successful young businessman who
decides to leave the New York rat race behind and move into his father
Alan's (Segal) Florida retirement home.
In her first TV gig since her headline-grabbing abrupt exit from "SNL"
in September, Wilson will play David's sister. "Arrested Development"
alumna Walter, repped by Innovative and manager Sandra Chang, will
play David's mom, while Ebersole will play a potential love interest
for Alan. McClain is with Innovative and Jackson-Medavoy.
Also cast in the pilot are Josh McDermott as David's best friend, Ryan
Michelle Bathe ("Trauma") as David's love interest, Matt Champagne as
Amy's boyfriend, George Wyner as Alan's best friend as well as Jere
Burns and Faye DeWitt.
"Retired" and another sitcom pilot, "Hot in Cleveland," which is still
casting, mark TV Land's first foray into original scripted series and
are targeted for the network's primetime block TV Land Prime.
