Well, the first time that I remember seeing Paul, Coach was impressed with the
fact that he knew all the word to "Bonanza." I think he sang it. I also
remember the guys performing the theme from "The Magnificent Seven."

Well it had to be asked...

I purchased an album (yes vinyl record) called TV-Toons with a bunch
of different TV themes on it a long while back.

The occassional tapes I make, mixing various selections from my
extensive album collection (yes vinyl records), recently included
the themes to Bonanza and Branded. Since I find myself singing
to the words to Branded as I drive to and fro, I experience a void
when Bonanza comes on and I don`t remember the dam* words from Cheers.

I would humbly like to request that them that know the words post 'em.

Thank you.

Sorry to follow up my own post, but I mentioned this thread at dinner last
night and was reminded of the time the gang all sang a lullabye over the phone
to Carla's baby. Also, one episode started with the gang pounding out the
tune of "We Will Rock You."

This is correct.
Later in the show Coach gives us a another bit of the "song":
Taiwan...Taiwan and the sea, the Chinese sea.

The guys also performed the "Presidential March" to ring in a new keg in one
eps.

Then, of course, there was the two-parter when the juke was broken and they
had a loaner Kareoke machine.

Sorry to repost/rephrase, but

I really want to know the words to the theme from _____Bonanza____.

The only place I have ever heard any words to the theme was on
the one Cheers episode.
It doesn't matter if they are bogus words made up by the writers
either, not a bit.

I remember Cliff singing "Misty" to Rebecca in the car. There is also the
rendition of Queen's "We Will Rock You" in the opening of the show.

We chased lady luck, til we finally struck-
BONANZA
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope,
We planted our family tree.
We got a hold of a pot full of gold,
BONANZA
With a horse and a saddle,
and a ring full of cattle?

On this land we put our brand,
Cartwright is the name,
Fortune smiled, the day we filed the Ponderosa claim.

Here in the west, we're livin' in the best
BONAs anyone of us ,
He's got a fight with me
BONANZA

Hoss and Joe and Adam know every rock and pine,
No one works fights, or eats ,
Like those boys of mine
Here we stand in the middle of a grand
BONANZA
with a gun and a rope and a hatful of hope,
We planted our family tree,
We got a hold of a potful of gold
BONANZA
With a houseful of friends where the rainbow ends,
How rich can a e put our brand
Cartwright is the name,
Fortune smiled , the day we filed the Ponderosa claim
Here in the west we're living in the best
BONANZA
With the friendliest, fightingist, lovingist band,
That ever set foot in the promised land
And we're happier than them all.

That's why we call it
Bonanza...bonanza.. bonanza..

This was taken from the record Bonanza Ponderosa Party Time LPM/LSP 2583 RCA They only used a small section of the song and decided it wouldn't work.(The section starting "Here in the West..")Bon

There is also a series of books you might like : Bonanza by Stephen Calder - from Bantam DomainThe Ponderosa Empire , 3) The High-Steel Hazard, 4)Journey of the Horse. These are loosley based on the series although they don't always mesh with the show. Also there is a new movie or T.V. movie Return to the Ponderosa, with one of Michael Ln and Dean Stockwell (Al from Quantum Leap). involved. I saw some information on it when I went to the ranch sight at Lake Tahoe.

There was also an episode that began (before the credits) with an
"infectious" song. One person began it, and encountered another perosn
(passed them in the hall for example) who would continue it.

How could we all forget Rebecca's wedding. One of the Righteous Brothers was
there performing "Unchained Melody" and Sam kept requesting another song to
remind Rebecca of him and to change her mind as she headed down the aisle.
I also remember Frasier either singing or preparing to sing at the ceremony.

There was one of the opening scenes when someone was singing this
song, the person passed by another customer who picked it up,
this continues until coach passes by the last person, instead
of picking up the song he starts singing a cowboy song.

I recently saw an episode where Sam raps a sports commentary as a

Well, Albania *was* a red/Communist state from the end of WW II until
around the time the Berlin Wall was torn down. I believe they actually
let the Chinese base part of its Navy there back in the day. My
university had a student newspaper that was resolutely Marxist but they
had renounced both the Soviet Union and China as "following the wrong
path"; they thought Albania was the True Model of Marxism.

As for great memories, I hope you are referring to Cheers with that, not
Albania. I used to work with a guy from Albania and he did NOT have very
fond memories of the place.

I remember seeing a documentary from the early 90s which had been
created by one of the very "journalists" (propagandists more like) from
our school newspaper. He actually narrated and said on camera that
seeing Albania with his own eyes was something he had long wanted. I
think he must have found it very enlightening - but not in the way he
had hoped. His documentary focused on a doctor who was working in a
rural area. The doctor spoke reasonable English having learned it from
BBC sports broadcasts. Anyway, the doctor explained that his "clinic"
was having a hard time because the *only* piece of medical equipment he
had - his stethoscope - had been stolen. Imagine living in a country
where the doctors had no equipment of any kind! Not my idea of paradise!!
