Her character, Eve, sang a song. Was that her own singing, or a
voice double? It didn't really sound like her.

according to: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/k/kaitlyn_dever.html

playing guitar and singing are two of her favorites when not acting or going to school. So it could have been her voice and playing. If not, it was incredibly well faked!!

It was Eve's actual voice. The song was called "Baby Baby Blue".

What about during the church service last night?

If she does sing so well, why did they run an episode where she
got booed out of the restaurant?

It was her singing. She's sung before on the show, as I recall. First
season? Second?

She's really the only reason I (occasionally) watch the show.

Hmmm. She's OK, but her character is super-annoying, which makes her
performance far less enjoyable.

I actively dislike the performance of the other daughter.

The church song was a gospel hymn, lyrics, "Take the hand of the man who...."
Can't remember any more and even this may not be accurate, but I'm sure
someone here could identify it positively.

I loved her and her sister's church performance. I was glad to hear that "Eve's"
voice had strengthened and matured over the last few years. Good for her.

It was rather odd that they had an episode where her singing was a
failure, and she was booed out of the family restaurant for singing
poorly. Quite a contrast to the other two episodes where she was
cheered.

Did she ever sing on Justified?

The song was "Put your hand in the hand" By Ocean, early 70's band.

The song "put your hand in the hand..." is an old spiritual. Not an original from the 70s...

It enjoyed a revival in the 70s.

"Put Your Hand in the Hand" was an original "gospel-pop" song, written
by Gene MacLellan and first recorded by Anne Murray in 1970 for her
third studio album. (MacLellan had previously written "Snowbird" for
Murray.)

The Toronto-based group Ocean released "Hand" the following year, and
their cover was the hit that everybody remembers. It was Ocean's only
hit in the U.S.; the group managed two subsequent hits in Canada.
(Capitol Records had refused to issue "Hand" as a single for Murray
because it was "too religious"; Murray wrote in her autobiography that
she was very upset to lose the hit, and complained that Ocean had sung
it off-key.)

She was booed when she played in Kristen's restaurant, in a different episode from the Baby Blue one. And I agree, it was a silly episode.
