"New Scandinavian Cooking With Tina Nordstrom"
It strikes me as awkward at times but Tina is a hottie with a cute
accent and many of the food items are alien to me.
"Gourmet's Adventures With Ruth"
Enrica Rocca's Venice The Rialto market; cooking lessons with Enrica
Rocca at her family's 16th-century palazzo in Venice, Italy; with
Dianne Wiest.
This is the first one I've seen and might end up being one of my
favorite PBS food episodes. Enrica changes her outfit a bunch of
times. To be fair, I don't know how many days it took to film the
segment.

I don't think this is new. It ran on the Burlington, Vt or maybe
Plattsburgh, NY PBS station a few years back. I liked it because I
spent six months or so in Copenhagen when I was five, so it brought
back memories. I did find it odd that most or all of the shows that
I watched, they were cooking outside. You don't think of Scandinavian
countries as a prime location for cooking outdoors.

I haven't seen it. This sounds similar in theme to the Scandinavian
show, in that it too is a localized cooking show from a European country.
It was never clear whether the Scandinavian show was made specifically
for PBS or if they hoped for a larger market. The Venice show would
seem to be aimed very much towards an American market, with the addition
of Dianne Wiest.

Looks like she is just a host for one season. Looks like someone named
Andreas Viestad did season 1,2,4. Tina did season 3, and Claus Meyer
is hosting the current season:

I will agree that Tina looks cute in that picture.

Sounds like this one could be interesting. Looks like Ruth Reichl will
be cooking with a number of different actors in different areas of the
world.
From the web site http://www.gourmet.com/adventureswithruth
Season One
For the series premiere, Ruth and actress Frances McDormand travel to
Blackberry Farm, a Tennessee idyll where fly-fishing, beekeeping, and
sophisticated Southern recipes are all on the menu. In other episodes,
Ruth is whisked away to Marrakech, Morocco, for lessons on couscous
and tagines, with Lorraine Bracco and to Bath, England, for secrets of
homemade bread with Dianne Wiest. Plus, she fishes Seattle with Tom
Skerritt and explores New York Citys Indian community with Jeffrey
Wright.

Yum! Lutefisk!

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.
