I don't have the singer but the title is "Moving on Up," by Jeff Barry
and Ja'net DuBois. -- Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows.
Gerry Wright
San Francisco
It was sung by the woman married to the white guy. (She died a few years
ago.. She was the mother of the guy Lisa Bonet was married to... Wow am I being
vague or what?)

There's nothing *particularly* "cool" about my web page, as it focuses
on information not .GIFfed-up-the-wazoo wallpaper designed to distract

The singer was Ja'net DuBois (otherwise known as Wilona on "Good Times").
Sylvia
The singer was Janet Dubois
Wasn't it Roxie Roker or something like that?

Roxie Roker, who played Helen Willis, did die recently. She did not sing
the opening song, but she did give birth to Lenny Kravitz (It Ain't over
'til it's over), who was briefly married to Lisa Bonet

I seem to remember hearing that it was Roxie Roker. She played
the neighbor who lived down stairs. Her daugher Jenny married the
Jeffersons son Lionel.
She passed away last year.
