But then, I've never been so outraged by a sequel as by ALIEN3. The
seconds of NEVERENDING STORY and SISTER ACT made me gnash my teeth and mourn,
and T2 was a damn shame (exsept for the sfx, of course!) betrayal of the
character of the heroine, but to absolutely BLOW the triumph of ALIENS to make
that dreary sequel...}}Censoring my unChristian and obscene and illegally
vengeful notions unfortunately hatched by ALIEN3{{...Especially by slaughtering
Carrie Henn's valiant little girl character--FIE!!!!!!!!! I LOVED ALIENS, and
they permanently RUINED it for me!!
Saw ALIEN RESURRECTION anyway, thinking it might all be saved by
then-wünderkind Joss Whedon; but a fleet of NOSTROMOs (or MEGA-MAIDs ;-D !)
could have been driven through the anachronistic (and other) holes in that
plot.
Weaver thinks the only way to go next--IDEAS, ANYONE?--would be to go to
the Aliens' home planet. They ought to get the original production designer,
in that case, and GET OUT OF THE ROTTING, CLAUSTROPHOBIC PLUMBERS' NIGHTMARES
where they've spent too much time already.
Is SUSPENSE without gross (and I do mean GROSS!) OFFENSE too much to ask?
