I plowed through season 1 of Nancy Drew. Who knows if I'll ever get to
the other two seasons.

There was amazing amounts of STOOPID.

Ace, the dishwasher at the Bayside Claw, refused to accompany his
now-rich girlfriend to Paris because he wanted to make a life for
himself here. As a dishwasher.

The restaurant still has no customers although there are throw-away
lines about how they're going to try to market it or something.

Nancy Drew turns out to be NOT the biological daughter of Carson and
Kate Drew. Wait. What?

She's the daughter of Dead Lucy by the lame rich doofus. Nancy's parents
simply got her baby as she gave birth. Dead Lucy wasn't murdered but
left a suicide note. The Drews hid Nancy from the rich doofus's family
because Lucy was afraid of his father.

In the last episode, George has a confrontation about the affair she had
with the lame rich doofus. "You led me on." You knowingly had the affair
with the married man. Yeah, he lied to you. Yeah, you were young and
stupid. You survived. Learn a life lesson.

Everything about Bess being desperate to be accepted by the OTHER vile
rich family and how they accepted her without much thought was
ridiculous. That and her phoney American accent disappearing after a few
episodes. What was the point in doing it in the first place?

The police chief vanished from the series without completing season 1
and wasn't even on the episode when it was revealed that Karen had
conpsired to murder Ryan with Tiffany's brother (but they murdered
Tiffany instead). Then the brother murders the son of the other rich
family who is sort of Nancy's boyfriend even though he really wanted to
murder Nancy. Yeah, it would have been imporant to have him in at least
the episode in which Karen was caught. He comes back for a brief scene
in a late episode saying he's resigned.

They come up with massively stupid supernatural crap in addition to Dead
Lucy haunting various characters. There's this evil sea spirit, part of
a town myth, that they summon to retrieve Dead Lucy's bones.

And then the STOOPID compounds upon STOOPID. Nancy's coroner friend,
with no equipment whatsoever, tries to investigate the bones AT THE
RESTAURANT which leads to a "humorous" scene in which the acting police
chief raids the restaurant for clues from months earlier, almost
discoving the bones. If only the kids had given him the bones at his own
lab where he had the necessary equipment to investigate, the massive
STOOPID was avoidable.

Part of her skull is taken. Beth notices but tells no one. The coroner
does not notice.

Then it turns out that the evil sea spirit was a woman murdered a
century ago or so. We thought Nancy was going to figure out that mystery
but the season just runs out. I wondered if there were 4 more scripts
awaiting production haulted due to the pandemic but I have no idea when
production occured.

There was an article on the Facebook yesterday evening about how the CW
will be profitable by 2025.

Not unless they call it something else so we can forget all that’s gone
before.

The C-Wub will be sold at a loss or just shut down to create a loss to
offset the sale of some other asset by the conglomerate that owns it.

Let's not do that. I think Vir's quote applies.

I want its head on a pike.

The Pike show is on P plus although for purposes of this thread it would be
better if it was on UPN.
