I guess it wasn't THAT great. But host Fred Roggin was more funny and
appealing than Bob Saget, and there were some really funny lines on the
show. I remember one clip showing a stunt motorcyclist wiping out, and
the annoucer saying, "Footage from the Gary Busey Motorcycle Riding
School!". And, of course, there was Officer Feldman.
Anyone remember this show? I know after it ended, Roggin made a pilot
for one of the networks, which was essentially the same as this show
(and it had some interesting footage, such as clips from really bizarre
Japanese game shows). The network actually broadcast the pilot twice,
but it never developed into a series.

remember it. loved it. loved feldman. it only came on at like 2am in my
area (detroit). is he (roggin) doing anything in tv these days?
Roggin most recently has been co-host of a soon to be defunct talk show
"Arthel & Fred", with former "Extra" host and Neville Brothers relative
Arthel Neville. It was a failed attempt to copy "Regis & Kathie Lee".
Hopefully, with the renewed interest in reality-based comedy shows (such
as "Candid Camera" and "Tv's Bloopers"), Roggin won't be out of work too
long. He'd also make a good host if game shows become a hot genre again.

Anyway, at the end of one episode of "Roggin's Heroes", Fred Roggin
ended the show by saying something like, "Oh, Bob Saget - tell your wife
I'll be home soon!" The audience shrieked with laughter!!!

I used to see this show late on Sunday nights on KMTV (Channel 3, Omaha).
It was quite good, especially "Officer Feldman's Safety Tips". Roggin's
Heores
is comparable to "America's Funniest Home Videos" only to the extent that
both programs showed video clips of mishaps, men getting hit in the crotch,
etc. The voice-overs by Fred Roggin were far superior to Bob Saget's
irritating drivel.
My recollection is that Roggin was a sports reporter for a California TV
station,
and it seems that there was some sort of move to take the show out of
syndication
and put it with one of the networks, but that apparently fell through.
Great show, and I sure do miss it!
Sam
On the other hand, I think his "Heroes" was pretty cool, too.

Basically, he's getting all the TV time he deserves. Being called better
than Saget is truly faint praise. In a fairer world, Saget would be
serving up Big Macs somewhere in Iowa, where his charms would be put to
better use.
