With Tom Cruise now out, mercifully, who can they get to fill in
Solo's shoes now? Obviously, it has to be somebody who's currently
hot that can show the studio the money, this won't be wasted on just
any Joe Schmo off the street. So I came across a site that has pics
of the current Top 50 hot actors, according to them, and I made 4
picks from which to choose the winner:

Robert Downey, Ben Affleck, Hugh Jackman, Henry Cavill

Each could pull it off, with Downey probably having a persona and look
that maybe comes closest to Vaughn's; Affleck being a longshot with
only "the look" going for him for now; Jackman also being a longshot
who might carry the charm but is probably too tall for the role; and
Cavill being perhaps the dark horse to settle on just to shake things
up a bit and bring Solo a little up to date, though it's hard to say
if he can deliver on the kind of smooth suave that Vaughn projected.
It doesn't hurt that Cavill is listed as No. 1.

Anyway, take your pick of the lot:

http://www.totalfilm.com/features/50-hottest-2013-actors/armie-hammer

Interestingly, Armie Hammer is 50th and he's already slated to play
Illya Kuryakin. So with both No. 50 Hammer and No. 1 Cavill, the
bookends for the movie would be seem to be perfectly in place.

Clive Owen. Or, again, David "Dr Who" Tennant, but his Scottish accent
is terrible.

I'd say Eric Holder since the lying, two-faced dishonest, incompetent
bastard will soon be out of a job. Holder has fucked up once too often
and been caught in a bold faced lie once too often. Look for the lying,
two-faced dishonest incompetent bastard in the Oval Office to throw Holder
under the bus.

"I could no more disown Jeremiah Wright than I could disown the black
community." - Barak Obama about two weeks before he disowned Jeremiah
Wright and threw him under the bus.

Liberals say they are willing to consider opposing points of view, but are
always shocked, angry and outraged to find they exist.

Wow, Irish Mike. You're no longer pretending to be anything but a
political troll who will post off-topic political shit in any thread in
any newsgroup.

Sorry to disappoint you bucko, but I see it quite differently. I am one
of the few, true conservative patriots who is unafraid to stand up and
speak out against the clueless far left wing buffoon in the White House
who is attacking religious freedom, suppressing freedom of speech and
spending America in to financial ruin and economic destruction. And it is
especially courageous of me to do this on a newsgroup where I am
surrounded and out numbered by low information, left wing liberal loons.

Your opinion of yourself is entirely irrelevant. I'm judging you on
your behavior.

I must have missed the news. Is Tom Cruise being considered for Attorney
General? Is Eric Holder being considered for being cast in Man From UNCLE?

You're misrepresenting your actions, Irish Mike. You're not standing up
to Eric Holder at all. It takes zero courage to post an off-topic
political followup to complain about him. It might take a modest amount of
courage to write him a letter and sign your true name.

You're not the least bit courageous.

Liberals say they are willing to consider opposing points of view, but are
always shocked, angry and outraged to find they exist.

Irish Mike

The essential difference between liberals and conservatives is that
liberals can't exist without conservatives to defend their freedom and
support them economically. Conservatives, on the other hand, can exist
and live quite well without liberals.

And especially rude to do so where you are surrounded by people who did
not come to discuss politics, whatever their positions might be. Do you
stand up at weddings and rant about the political leanings of the
bride's father?

More accurately, surrounded by left wing loons who want to limit all
discussions to their political point of view. Liberals say they are
willing to consider opposing points of view, but are always shocked, angry
and outraged to find they exist.

Irish Mike

Fair, balanced and unafraid. With particular emphasis on unafraid.

There are political newsgroups, even right wingnut-biased ones, where
you can foam at the mouth all you want. Trying to prove your
imbecilic muscle just because you see imbecilic left wingers doing it
in a TV group only proves how imbecilic your muscle really is.

Clooney was already picked, and he would've been perfect. Steven
Soderbergh was to direct, which would've also been perfect. But then
Clooney had to back out due to some back surgery he needed to get
done. Consequently, Soderbergh exited as well.
