I follow television news, the ratings, and such quite closely but one
question remains on my mind. Does anyone know the whereabouts of
Saverio Guerra ("Bob" from the sitcom "Becker" on CBS)? CBS has not
said whether or not he's left the series, nor do his filmography on
the IMDb website (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0346089/) mention
anything.

It's like they've just written him out of the show, with no
explanation whatsoever, and replaced him with that awful actor who
portrays Hector Lopez. Mr. Guerra truly was one of the funnier actors
on the show. With him gone and Terry Farrell too, the show has gone
downhill.

Something I may have never wanted a couple years ago, I truly wish
(and hope) that "Becker" ends its six season with a series finale. It
can live on in syndication, with nearly 150 episodes in the bag, but
it's just lost its "umph."

With that said, any information on the status of the character "Bob,"
his actor alter-ego Saverio Guerra, or related news, is most
appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

All the Best,
Doug

This was a question asked in the "Ask Matt" column of TVguide.com a few
weeks ago. They don't keep archives but the answer was SG decided not to
come back this year.

<<With him gone and Terry Farrell too, the show has gone downhill.>>

Make that unwatchable. I was re-watching one of the episodes right before
Terry was fired on WGN last night. Chris wasn't even in the episode but she
still ruined it with Becker's obsession about her.

After the first two episodes of the 5th season I was out of there. I saw
that the show's ratings were doing ok on Wednesday and I thought I might
give it a try. Then I heard Bob left and stayed clear of it. John has
turned into a pile of mush over that awful Chris. Only Margaret and Linda
are left and they aren't enough to hold the show together.

In the season premiere they said that Bob was away on vacation. If he
were gone from the series, you'd think the explanation would be more
permanent.

Thank you Marc and Ryan. I must've missed that. (Sorry for the delay
in replying, I check Google Groups and don't subscribe to Usenet
lists.)

Cheers,

I'm curious myself - he turned in an enjoyable recurring role on
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as weaselly bar owner Willy the Snitch, but
then just stopped showing up.

Translation - he got canned just like Terry Farrell.

(I still like and watch the show, and actually *do* like Nancy Travis a lot,
though I wish she was really perky like last year. The new character is
bad though.)

Pile of mush? He's about as curmudgeonly as usual. Though that's not the
best word to use. I think he's a decent guy. (If more people didn't put
up with crap, like he doesn't, the world would be a better place.)
