Boy, first they kill off Stan and now the Commish himself will be the
target of a hit man in the season finale. But they can't kill him since
the show has been renewed...

Well, I'm glad to hear that The Commish has been renewed. I enjoy that show.
It's different enough, and entertaining and well-done.

Great news!

Ooops. Not Stan being killed off:-) Gee, the character of Stan had
it rough this past season. First he falls in love with a girl
who beats up rowdy bar patrons, gets engaged, finds out his fiancee
is an ex-criminal and then gets dumped. Now he might be dead!

I am, too! It's one of the cleanest shows on television today.
I think that it's a refreshing hour of entertainment that many
people don't give it credit for!

I was also very disappointed to see Stan die. He was a favorite of
mine. In our TV Guide edition (in Vancouver,B.C. where the show is shot)
Michael Chiklis says that the next episode will be pivotal and that it
will change the commish's life drastically. I hope his wife won't get
killed since Theresa Saldana owns a restaurant in town!!! Any
predictions anyone?

Accually, they may not have killed him off. after all, the Commish has
pulled at least one other person out of a blown up car, so Stan might
have made it.

For God's sake, the show is awful--

Suggestion: Instead of watching the show, have sex and name your child
"The Commish."

Personally, I can't see how anyone can stand to watch that show.
Except maybe to laugh at how bad it is (a la MST3K). It turns my
stomach. The excessive moralizing, the horrible acting (especially
the title character-- blecch!), etc. What an utterly horrid show.

His car blew up and I don't see how he could have escaped. He was one of
the best parts of the show. I will miss him. I liked Marisa the first year.
She was his partner. One by one they are replaced.

Actually, the thing that bothered me the most about the writers killing off
Stan, is that it probably indicates that the (IMHO) much less worthy Island
City pilot has been picked upt for production next season.

In Island City -- a bad post apocalyptic Sci-Fi drama from PTEN -- the only
vaguely interesting character was the member of the Team that was one of
several cloned "brothers," and I am 90% sure that the actor playing the
role is the actor who plays (plaied) Stan on The Commish.

I cant believe they are getting rid of Stan too. Did they ever say
what happened to Carmella (or whatever her name was)?

I think her character name was Carmella. Her name is Marisa Hargetay.
She was in a short-lived series before The Commish, Tequila and Bonetti.
She seemed to vanish without a mention between seasons. If anyone knows
anything about this, I hope it will be posted.
I haven't seen her since.

Na, he's dead. The promos for that episode made a big deal about the fact
that "one of these four people (Tony, Rachael, Syd or Stan) would lose
his/her life. Stan is toast.

Really? Marisa Hargetay is Jayne Mansfield's daughter.

It's different. I mean, here's a hero character who's married (which in
itself is refreshing after all the lone-wolf unmarried heroes and the "dead
girlfriend of the week" syndrome for years and years), and who is nothing more
than a regular schmoe doing his job. He's a very clever regular schmoe with a
wild sense of humor and a great sense of the sarcastic, but he's someone every
one of us can identify with because he's so AVERAGE! Teehee!

That's your opinion, of course, to which you are entitled. I'm just glad
there's still a variety of fare on television and that we're not all subjected
to the same thing. Of course, any show you don't like, you don't have to
watch, but at least allow those of us who do like it our enjoyment. Thank you
very much.

I liked the scene in last week's show where he wept while reading
Stan's letter. You don't see that much with any male characters on TV,
but it fit and was appropriate. I really like this show and have
wondered why more people don't talk about it.

Also a question -- was last week the season ender or is there a
conclusion this week?

Thanks.

I agree. As far as I know, that was the season finale, a cliffhanger.
I would have preferred that his wife be the character in jeopardy.
He has to come back since it was renewed. He has threatened on several
occasions to leave this job for another. They were even separated by
their jobs. I wonder how the story will change.

It is refreshing to see a male character shed tears. For so many

I don't know if that was the last or not. Because of family

Sigh.

Have to catch it in reruns, I guess.

Last week WAS the season finale. We have to wait until Fall to see how they
resolve the situation.
