I might sample this. Did it get dumped to binge watching because it
sucks or because Squiggle is trying to rebuild an audience for its network?

According to this:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/television/john-doyle-murdoch-mysteries-puzzles-american-critics/article28078232/

Ovation is an art channel so they wanted 'art' in the title.

At least this explains why they run

Rough Draft
The Envelope

and many more.

Hell, Murdoch is a full third of the shows with 'art' in the title.

Wow, I had no idea that CBS planned this as "burnoff" right from the start.

I guess this is this season's broadcast network entry in the "precancelled!!" Sweepstakes...

From awhile back when it was originally put on the schedule, there was
this article:

Ransom — a Canada-France treaty co-production — is a lower-cost

You want them to change the name back again? Murdoch Mysteries formerly
known as The Artful Detective formerly known as Murdoch Mysteries is a
lot to say in one breath.

Yeah, but Acorn's not a channel is it, but a provider of multiple
channels?

If Acorn's one channel this is galactically stupid.

Why oh why... There are other shows with great "eye candy". How do you
get past the writing and horrible acting. I tried... I really tried,
but past episode 3 or 4 was just way too much for me to deal with.

Since apparently Acorn started out as a VHS vendor, then a DVD/BR

What's odd about the Acorn distribution deal is that Ovation starts
showing season 10 on January 9:
