Don't know about that but no question they moved a LOT of voting
stations out of elementary schools and into church halls.
Since there are more elementary schools than churches (not to mention
that elementary schools are much closer to residential areas than
churches) people were having to go a lot further to vote.
The school I've been voting in for 20+ years (except this time) is 2
1/2 blocks away. The church I was supposed to vote in was 4 miles away
so I voted in the advance poll (for the first time in my life) at the
mall which was only 3 blocks further away.
In the Oct 2020 BC provincial election I voted at the elementary
school my kids went to 20 years ago and was in and out in under 10
minutes. In last week's federal election it was 30-45 minutes. Which
is still blindingly fast by US standards but exceptionally slow by
