Haven has VERY little in common with The Colorado Kid, in which a small
town Maine newspaper staff discuss the mystery surrounding a dead man
two high school students found on a beach. For many years the only clue
to the "kid's" identity was a Colorado tax seal on the cigarette package
in his pocket. There was no indication of "troubles" or any paranormal
activity at all. Apparently the Haven producers just wanted to use
Stephen King's name in the title to gain initial audience.

And to sell the series, I think.

Crediting (and paying) a particular author also insulates them from
anyone who comes along and says they stole the idea of a series about a
lot of people with special powers.

Meanwhile, for a channel that is supposed to be about fantasy, SyFy is
overloaded with "reality." Anybody have a time machine so we can go back
and kill that trend?

Face Off is really good but all of their other reality crap is pretty
bad IMHO. Hot Set is pretty much a rip off of Face Off so it will be
interesting to see how that plays out.

The Face Off commercials look interesting but I've never actually
watched an episode. I did watch Total Black Out. It is bad but it
occasionally falls into the so bad it's good category. I *might* sample
Hot Set if it looks interesting.

I'm sure there's a way to execute this so it's a good story but I doubt
that's the case here.

I'm going to be forced to watch this thanks to the cast.
