NBC was down right malicious! Running "Fear Factor" long into the
most competitive timeslot of the week. Can anyone tell me how Kelly
Preston did on the final stunt? I had to tune away at 9:00.

she finished, but she didn't win. she did a good job, but i think her time was

i only watched the last half, so i didn't see how they did in the beginning,
but of what i saw, it wasn't that bad. i thought it was gonna be pretty awful,
but it was fun.

Whatever fee the actors got to appear on the show, I hope it was larger than
the usual combat pay given to celebrities appearing on game shows. It's one
thing to be dumb for charity on Regis or Anne's game; it's another to be a
Jackass for charity on FF.

25,000 for their charity, nothing for themselves.

the guy who books the show said that it was harder than usual to get the
guests, but not as hard as he thought. kelly preston is evidently a fan and was
ready to do it before they even asked. i'm fairly certain that coolio was eager
as well. they might've mentioned that during the show, but like i said, i
missed the first half.

Hell, this is a decent opportunity to plug my site, which has results of
every prime-time game, typically the same night.

1. Who won?

2. Who was the celebrity that was so famous they couldn't say
who it would be?

You know, I forgot about that promo.
I guess that must've been David Hasselhoff(?)

The celebrities were:

Donnie Osmond
David Hasselhoff
Coolio
Kelly Preston
Brooke Burns
Chyna

(They really should've cast four guys against only two girls)

I didn't watch this but was stuck seeing the last five minutes, and
she was moaning something in a flat voice as she walked away with her
fat slob husband L. Ron Travolta. Is she supposed to be talented?

Maybe John Travolta? He came out to wish Kelly luck & give her advice (??)
just before the last stunt. He also matched her $25,000 prize so she was
able to give $50,000 to her charity anyway.

I was surprisingly impressed with Preston's athleticism. I expected "Chyna" to
be the better athlete and while she did well, Preston was impressive. Expected
Coolio to do well; seems athletic.

I was rooting for Kelly - she was strong, confident, athletic, self-assured;
surprised Chyna was as nervous and lacking in confidence as she appeared to
be; I could have done without the 2 "Baywatch" alumnae;
Donny was surprisingly good; Coolio was, well, Coolio. Didn't seem to be
much doubt (especially in his own mind) that he was going to win it all.

Does this mean that Kelly Preston won $25,000 or that Coolio was the
only person to win the money? I'm wondering because of my post from
10/31 regarding Travolta's promise to match the money Kelly could win
on Fear Factor and give it to 9/11 charities. Will he be donating
nothing now if she didn't win?

Here is my 10/31 post about Travolta's 10/29 appearance on Leno:

Did anyone see this interview? Travolta said his wife, Kelly Preston,
will be appearing on the celebrity version of "Fear Factor." Then, he
said, "Whatever she makes on that show, I will match and we will
donate it to 'Ground Zero'."

In my opinion, this shows that he has not yet made a donation to any
of the various charities. Also, how much could his wife actually earn
on "Fear Factor," does anyone know? I wouldn't think it would be
much, at least not as much as a celebrity like Travolta should be able
to spare. I'll bet most of his money goes to Scientology. What a
role model. Yuck.

byenow.

Each celebrity got $25000 min. for the charities for appearing. The winner got
50K.

it means that coolio was the only one to win the 50,000, but that the others
got 25,000 for their charities simply for appearing on the show.

no, he's matching the 25,000...they mentioned it on the show which, other than
the fact that he's travolta and they probably wanted him on there, was probably
the reason they had him on at the end.

as for your previous post: obviously he couldn't say how much he had donated
(or was going to donate after the show aired) because that would be giving away
whether or not kelly won the show.

Each got $25,000 for appearing; Coolio got $50,000 for winning; Travolta
matched Kelly's $25,000 so she ended up with $50,000 for her charity as
well.

Thank you! I mean has she ever done anything worth mentioning? Since when
does marrying tv's Vinny Barbarino make you a celebrity? Also she acted like a
total jerk during the last stunt. Coolio did some trash talk at the end too but
he made it sound fun and he has the rep to back it up. She's a generic blond
from Hawaii who married a "movie star."

TyrC! who know's the above post was mean but she irritated me something awful!

Not even a union guaranteed appearance fee? I'd hate to think that the losers
dunked their heads in a pile of worms for nothing.

apparently Battlefield Earth didn't revive his career! :P

WWF Superstars Matt and Jeff Hardy, Lita, Molly Holly and Jacquline will all
compete in another celebrity edition that will tape in December. Apparently
Fear Factor's the next game that will forget real people and have a bunch of
overexposed celebrities. Then again this show was just as annoying to watch
with real people!

This could be good seeing as the Hardy boys are mentaly ill enough to do
any crazy stunt no matter how dangerous it is to their bodies.
