Can someone tell me the name of Tonto's horse. We know the Lone Ranger's
horse's name was Silver, but we can't remember Tonto's.

Dwight:
The horse Tonto rode was named "Scout" I believe.
Michael
Tonto's hourse was named Scout. I once had to answer this question on a
job interview after putting down Trivia as one of my interests on my
resume. Good thing I knew the answer!

I don't know what Tonto's horse's name was, so I'll leave that one
alone. But, I read somewhere (maybe a trivia book) that "Kimo Sabi"
(sp?) actually means "Trusty Scout". Could Tonto have been talking to
his horse all that time?

I will provide the answer if nobody gets it.

And, while we're on the general subject ... what was the name of Pat Brady's
jeep?
Nelly-Belle.
Tom
No, "Scout" is correct.

Tonto's horse was indeed named "Scout". The term "paint" refers to
the fact that the horse was a pinto.
"Kemo sabe" means "trusty friend".
I *love* this show!!!

Tonto's horse was definitely 'Scout' (as in "Get 'em up, Scout" to
balance "Hi Ho, Silver!").
"Kimo Sabe" is supposed to be an Indian phrase. But in Spanish, it
looks/sounds an awful lot like "Que no sabe", which translates into
"He who knows nothing".
In Spanish, "Tonto" translates directly to "fool".
This was pointed out to me by someone else, but I don't recall if they
knew whether the Spanish translation of "Kimo Sabe" was intentional.
It's my preferred translation, though: Both the Lone Ranger and Tonto
were actually constantly insulting each other every time they called
each other by name.... ("Let's go, Fool!" "After you, No Nothing!").

Actually that makes sense. It also agrees with what I always thought
Kimosabe meant. According to Gary Larson's The Far Side, one cartoon
featured an old Lone Ranger looking through an Indian-English dictionary
and the definition of Kimosabe read "Horse's rear end" and the Lone Ranger's
caption was "What the hey?"
