I think that the original ad was for Geritol or FemIron or something. The
husband decides to keep his wife because he is proud of the was she is
continuing to take careof herself as she ages.

The song is "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" by Mary Chapin-Carpenter though
Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless and a couple others have backed her up
on a TV show when she sang it (not sure if they do on the official release)

Interview with MCC just before the song was released she said that she
got the idea from a very old (when it was still black/white TV) commercial
that was along those same lines - Wife/Mother does everything under the
sun AND can make a good cup of coffee - the end 'scene' is the wife
standing sweetly behind the husband as he sips his coffee and says,
"My wife, I think I'll keep her!" -
