Why did they have to kill off Dani Alvarez?

"Body of Proof" really had a good thing going when they gave Nathalie Kelley
some good screen time as Dani Alvarez. Count me among the guys who could
happily gaze on that face - - that hair - - that petite liveliness for
hours. She really contributed exceptional presence to the show.

I was encouraged to see that on late 2011 episodes she was getting more to
do and say, and when 2012 flipped the page, except for a few earlier reruns
she had increasing screen time even to the end of some episodes. Then to
make her the first victim of the Marburg virus in the two episodes of "Going
Viral" - - that was really tragic. It meant that except for the few
recordings I had on my TIVO, I was not to see her again. Someone tell me
she'll be back - - when and where. Thanks.

Her next job is a movie entitled "The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente
Fernandez". She plays one of the hispanic staff of an old folks home
who begin to idolize Ernest Borgnine for no particularly good reason.

Too hot for the room. Waaaay too hot.

Of course now she can come back as a ghost, use up those surplus
"Gifted Man" scripts.

I'm not worried about her, at all - I'll bet dollars to donuts that
she'll end up (as a principal) on one of ABC's new series for the Fall
(if Kelley wants a TV career, as opposed to a movie career...).

Hope she doesn't get typecast as a victim of obscure diseases.

But I mean face it, she was ridiculously too hot for whatever her job
was supposed to be there, corpse attendant or whatever it was, also
too small in a job that involves hauling dead meat.

Mostly she stole every scene she was in, so she had to go.

The actress was gorgeous and the character was loads of fun. Who needs
that on a show?

She was only there so they could kill her later anyway. She had no role
in solving cases or the protagonist's family life. She was there to
give the detective more of a personal stake in her eventual death.

In article <jlqfud$14c$5...@dont-email.me>,
She was there because they couldn't kill Seven.

And a movie career is more likely to involve nudity.

Yah, Peter Dunlop character is just a little too dull, without her,
and for a change they didn't want to promote arm's length romance
between partners. But now what, is he going to moon endlessly over
her being taken by a virus, not much character action in that. Maybe
he'll fall in love with a series of hot babes who get killed off every
third episode, like red-shirts in TOS.

The whole show is on it's death bed. It doesn't look like it will be renewed
for next season. Too bad cause I like the show.

Fully agree.

I'm also a fan of her. She's a great actress and very beautiful. So why did she have to die ?
