Exclusive: 'Desperate Housewives' revives 'Dexter' casualty Julie Benz
by Michael Ausiello
Julie Benz has bounced back from her shocking Dexter departure with a
major role on Desperate Housewives.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Benz whose character, Rita,
succumbed to the most horrific bubble bath in television history in
last months Dexter finale has been cast in the recurring role of
Debbie, a stripper with a heart of gold and a Masters degree in
education. When Susan offers her the chance to transition into a more
legitimate career, Deb jumps at it.
Benz is booked for at least three episodes, the first of which is
scheduled to air in February.
Thoughts? Happy Benz career didnt die along with Rita? Think shell
fit in on Wisteria Lane? Sound off below!

Nothing like moving to a dying show.

Ummm... no. Benz played Rita, not Deb.
What really matters is that she played Darla, the evil vampire and
love interest on B/VS and Angel.
She also played the alien-hunter 'guidance counselor' on Roswell.
Lifetime just ran a TV movie with her playing a kidnapped bank
executive.

Umm, no. The original article was right.

What last point? This is the first message in the thread.
I know, you're talking about the thread about Julie Benz moving to
Desperate Housewives. But how would someone who hasn't read that thread
know what you mean? Please learn to post properly.
I'd rather have Benz on DH than say, Drea de Matteo, or even Dana
Delaney (though I like Delaney a lot more, and at least her character
leads to the occasional Lyndsy Fonseca guest stint...) - hopefully
they'll make Benz a permanent (and wacky!) part of the DH cast!!
