Over the past few weeks of How I Met Your Mother, Alyson Hannigan's breasts
have been getting bigger and bigger. It's very noticeable and stimulating,
have you noticed and been stimulated? It's really too bad that she's a
lesbian because otherwise I'd migrate to California and put the moves on that
sweet thang.

So, Alexis Denisof (a guy) is her "beard" ? No, Aly's straight.

I'll have to start watching that show more closely. Has anybody noticed that Cobie Smulders appears to be getting flatter and flatter?

She's not a lesbian but played one once on tv. She was the third
prettiest girl after Faith and Kendra on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".
:-)

As for her breast she probably is pregnant, albeit if she is it is a
late in life pregnancy since she is 38 years old. Women's breast
generally do grow larger with age, especially when they hit menopause.

In any event she looks georgous! Some women look better when they
are older. Vanessa L. Williams looked better at 40 than she did at 25.
She is 49 now and is still hot, :-) Mariska Hargitay at 48 looks
better now than she did 13 years ago IMHO as another example.

She may "feel inadequate". I only know her from the American Pie films,
where she is a capable and even sexually adventurous woman, but she still
plays a quite young woman. The voice, the actions, the time spent at band
camp. I thought she was high school age in Buffy. Even on "How I Met
Your Mother" I find it sometimes hard to picture her as older. Indeed, if
nobody had mentioned her age in this thread, I think I would have placed
her a decade younger.

It can be a horrible thing for an actress to be typecast as a teenager,
though perhaps that's better than not getting jobs because roles for
actresses in middle age seem to disappear, until they finally get old.

Twenty seven in 1997; she is 42 years old now. She still isn't bad
looking:

http://tinyurl.com/ccoubjh

The producers do that because the older actors have greater poise and
experience in acting. It was that way in "Smallville" too. Most of
the cast were in their late teens, early twenties when the series
started playing 15 year olds. Allison Mack was about 18 when the
series started, so was Kristin Kreuk.

I thought that was the case for Samantha Logan who plays "Nona" on
"666 Park Avenue", that the actress was about 18-19 years old, but she
maybe close to her character's age of 14. She has acted with more
poise than you think for the age of the character and so I thought she
was older. But I guess if the character has to take care of her
catatonic grandmother alone you have to grow up fast.

Any actor under 18 falls under child actor labor laws, which are a
bitch. Might as well try to fake it with a short 18 year old. Chances
of a growth spurt are less, they can work as long as the rest of the
crew, and fuck it, that's just life in a full time workplace.

But as discussed in a previous thread some time back, the men are usually
hidden. Nobody wears codpieces anymore, and even when naked, TV spares
the "weaker sex" from seeing such things. So it's much harder to comment

Unfortunately all you did was turn the thread into something gross. Female
breasts are beautiful and deserve to be bared. Testicles are ugly and
disgusting, and should be kept so hidden as to be forgotten.

Try to remember that for next time.

Dude. You've *so* got to stop with the "turned on by thoughts of
torture" routine. When she saw the scars, it was clearly shock and pity
and a bit of enlightenment on her part with regard to what was making
Ollie tick these days. Overall, she reacted to the scars with
*sympathy,* not lust.

Just on a general note on being disgusted with humanity, torture will never
end if we rely upon those who haven't been through it themselves to be
sympathetic only upon seeing physical evidence. The last thing a victim needs
is to become an object lesson for others.

In any event, it's tv. A guy takes off his shirt. It's sexual foreplay with
the intent of titilating the audience. Don't kid yourself that it was, uh,
a very special episode.

Well, to be fair to Laurel in this case, it's worth realizing that
different people have different concepts of "torture." Some people
honestly think that playing loud music is "torture," so I can see how
Laurel could have underestimated what Ollie had been through and been
shaken by the evidence of the *extreme* nature and extent of the torture
that he had undergone.

Sure. "Sexually titillating" to the tween girls types in the audience as
it related to Ollie's naked torso, but I don't see this show as going
after the torture porn demographic, and I definitely didn't see a
reaction from Laurel to suggest that the evidence of the torture
*itself* was something that was getting her all frothy.

You're a douchebag. I suggest you be forced to sleep in a particular way
you aren't used to that's extremely uncomfortable or shut the fuck up.
They're trying to skirt the rules about sleep depravation being torture,
and they're definitely trying to make the guy sleep-deprived, particularly
so he shows up crazed-looking for trial.

What evidence do you have that I've never been forced to sleep in a way
I'm not used to?

If it's good enough for the troops on the front lines, it's good enough
for the REMFs like Manning.

Ah, and here come the qualifications and additional criteria.

Is sleeping without a pillow somehow more tortuous in a
climate-controlled cell than in the Hindu Kush?

Why would you have? You never asked about any such thing. You just
claimed I'd never been forced to sleep in a way I'm not used to. Now
suddenly there's all these additional criteria. Convenient, that.

> Or, shut the fuck up.

Has that ever worked on anyone you've tried it on here? It's amusing
that you seem to think you have that kind of persuasive power.

I forgot. I thought you raised the issue of Bradley Manning's treatment,
but I didn't instantly glean it was all about you.

I don't know what the Hindu Kush has to do with being in detention during
a trial.

Were you kidnapped? You're stringing words together without saying
anything actually resembling a story, let alone one comparable to Manning.

btw, it appears that the guy is guilty as hell, but his true crime was
embarassing the government, especially those diplomatic cables that no one
looked terribly diplomatic in.

Therefore his period of pre-trial confinement just had to be locked in his
cell, alone, with nothing to do and no one to speak to. No, the government
wasn't trying to screw with him before trial or begin his punishment before
conviction and sentence.

I'm sure there's an innocent prison-management reason as to why he can't
have a pillow. Perhaps his cell is extremely brightly lit and denying him
that pillow forces him to face those ceiling lights so he can't sleep.

But you're claiming he's been coddled and kept comfortable? You're an idiot.

>>Or, shut the fuck up.

It's Usenet. No one ever shuts the fuck up.

I'm thinking here of Aimee Teagarden on Friday Night Lights, who went from
a slender beauty to a blimp in one year. She was still pretty but, wow,
not who they would have cast in the role.

Of course, she was no great shakes as an actress which didn't help.
Patricia Arquette fell off the weight cliff and lost her looks in one
season, but she was such a terrific actress, it didn't really hurt "The
Medium" too badly.

I don't watch the show, but she lost a LOT of weight for "The Avengers". I
think she looks good skinny, personally.

You see this in a lot of actresses. They choose to keep their weight down
and their breasts shrink. Jennifer Connelly would be a great example.

I asked about your inability to empathize, douchebag, and your willful
blindness that Manning is being subjected to harsh treatment.

I really wish you'd stop with this crap. Blimp? That's serious fuck.

What could hurt that show? The scripts were attrocious.

blimp

Did you like the concept and think the show was just badly written, or did
you just not like the show?

Sleep in a particular way that you aren't used to? I take it you don't
do a lot of business traveling?

I'm not quite sure what this is supposed to mean, or why my name is
being used. (Or is there another Jim that you're referring to here?)

That IS a form of torture. Good point.
