Wait 'til you see what they've done to The Care Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-o
"Care Bears countdown. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..."
"Buzz Bugs..the world's jagged-edge version of Bugs".
I thought that it was either a bad nightmare or early Apr.fool's joke
on Valnetine';s Day for this garbage. While "outdated" seems to be what
the producers think the characters are I think that it is just the
opposite, too much, and they know it too,a dn their knowing of the
hipness of the old is the lame exvcuse here..I'll show you what I mean.
Yes, the old LT's were hip--Bugs after all was a "hepcat" during WWII,
and Daffy was fisrst a zany conman (selling Porky POig a duckhuinting
gun while tyring to claim a closed dept. sotre as HIS squatter's
rights, selling stuff to Portky and ELmer at their respective ab odes),
then became greedy (ALI BABA BUNNY,etc.) and Syvlester and tweety
fought each other, one thing wass crystal clear (generally of coruse,
there were natsy exceptions):
THEY WERE VEIWER-FRINEDLY, not with an edge like nowdays verisons..
Mary Tyler Molore once said that her MTM show was sophisicted BUT it's
veiwer firendly, unlike the edge prodived by the Norman Lear shows of
the early 1970s .;
Analouosly, then the old LTs were like MTMshow, esp.with LUNATICS (the
title of the new abonimati0n)'s Lear sitcoms..or in this
Yu-Gi-Looney[Oh (being bey0ond the target age, I didn't care for YGO
either.:))
While the older toons would be cocky and brash they were on oru
side..Bugs nipped the, uh,nips becausde he was SO not Michael Moore,
Tweety only clobbered SYlvetser(originated in Biob CLampett
shorts,,ironically, though Clamopett worked with Syvletser Frizt Freleng
created him and was the only major director to pair him with The
Tweester.:)) when Sylvetser MADE THE FIRST MOVE.(Caps
intended).Likewise, Bugs Bunny.
I''m pretty sure, despite what's been said, that the producvers don't
think Warnr Bros.cartoon stares ARE outdated;in fact,if anything un
like Mickey, that's WHY theyt're putting them in his :"POOCHIE Of the
Simposns" type crap--because,in toehrs words, they THINK that they have
licece to make Bugs a in your face toon because that's the way that he
became a World War 2 icon. Sorry. Sander Schwartz, but ya missed the
cvawwot boat.
people always thrahs the OTHER S.Schwartz, GILLIGAN'S Sherwood who
updated that propety with REAL GILLGIan's island but these shows NEVER
had characters constantly breaking the fourth wall, or thne other in
your face stuff..yet this WAS a slapstick show..(sometimes with hanna
Barbera/-type sound effects-btw the creators of LACELOT LINK wrote the
sinking island one.)
I hope that a new cartoon GILLGIAN does NOT gfet that extreme
makeover,I';d rtaher watch the REAL GILLGIAN than that (though for that
to RALLY impress me, I'd like the hear "Geraldd friend" stock"(the GI
musical director)--unlike the LT music it's been never, evxcpert
ironcially in a RUGRAT movie and thesome sTV spoofs, used.)
Now if the tohught of a BUSG, and (thank god it ain 't happend)
GILLGIAN does UgiOH style is disgustign how bout..
THE CARE BHEARS extreme (well in their case MAYBE)
90210 THE ANIMATED INYORU FACE SERIES
FLINSTONE GFREAKES
MICKEY MOUSE MONSTERS--the ULTIMATE blasephemy as unlike Looney
tunes..Mickey and CO.,wewre NOT supposed to be "hip"(they were just not
the same extreme or as frequently though Donald Duck and the sub-UPA
efforts they did like the OScar-winning TOOT WHISTLE.. succeed as
such.)
How about the LB.PUPPIES (Puound Puppies to the lauman) extreme.
We now return you to your reguarly scheduled newsgroup.

Here's a bit of info from the offical previews:
The offical names are Slick Coyote, Roadster Runner, Spaz, Lexi Bunny, "Duck",
and Buzz Bunny.
Their powers:
Slick: "regeneration", stealth expert
Duck: "weapons expert", built-in sonar
Spaz: "the muscle" with "jaws of steel"
Roadster: (surprise!) SPEED!
Lexi Bunny: disguise expert, super hearing
Buzz: martial arts abilities AND LASER VISION!
Maxima, a human, assembles the team to face evil.
Also, the preview is the worst thing I've ever seen:

lmao That's the one.
What can you do w/ the fam of "Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home" now?! :-p
Bwah! I am too scared to contemplate THAT one.

I think people are overreacting to this in a huge way. Whether or not it's
any good depends entirely on the implementation.
As for the preview, I'll quote a Pinky and the Brain ep: "It ain't half bad."
"It ain't half good, neither."

no
. . . awful
each '.' is a multiplier of 10
I guess we should feel lucky they didn't do a prequel instead.

He isn't a Sooper Genius?

He should also be the team member who speaks multiple languages.

Was he a White House intern?

And the little wings on his sneakers lok so *cute*.

A cross-dresser on a cartoon show? Donald Wildmon's head will
explode... hmmm, this is actually a *good* thing...

So his eyes double as pointers during the mission briefings? Well,
maybe he can keep the cats occupied.

Does Maxima also have the superpower to pose and photograph underwear
models?

You skipped "Earth: Final Conflict's" last season?

The Joker in the Eeeeeeevil Cabal Deck of Cards.
Once we lose magnetic containment, Mr. Antimatter is no longer our
friend.
Bring back 'Capitol Critters' (ABC) and morph them into freaks next. Or
how about 'The Littles' (ABC Saturday mornings).

Hmm. I'd say future toons is worse, if only because Bugs et al had farther
to fall than EFC did.

EFC's Final season did'nt piss all over a classic franchise like
Looney Tunes.
Trust me, this is worse.
>Trust me, this is worse.
I take it you've seen the final product? And I wasn't aware this
cartoon's existence made all those other ones spontaneously combust.
Did not! I don't swing that way. *

LOL! Sorry, brah! Be glad it isn't 10 or so years ago on here ;+)
Lots of posts about "Vader" getting around back then....
