He portrays the NYPD captain that Holmes and Watson
more or less report to.

Last season the writers seemed to be moving him
off the program, although that was reveresed and
he stayed on board.

In Sunday's episode he didn't look the greatest,
and that's after professional NY studio makeup.

Anyone hear anything? I'm hoping he's ok...

Thanks

I always found him to be disinterested in the role and that IMO, impacts his appearance and demeanor. I think he believes he should have a starring role.

Last season his hair was brown. This year all his hair is white!
Someone told me it happened in one night. ;-)

I've seen that happen, though maybe "overnight" is an exaggeration.

But I can't see how it happens. Your hair has to grow out, it doesn't
lose its coloring, the grey hair has to grow out first.

It's been 26 years since I found my first grey hair, I have it somewhere
in a 35mm film container. but even now it's not all that grey.

Most likely he was already grey and just stopped coloring it between
seasons.

As I recall, the Valjean character in Les Miserables literally turns
grey overnight. He was a fictitious character but Hugo may have
conceivably based him on someone he'd known. Or just invented the whole
thing for dramatic effect....

And it doesn't always stay grey. I've got hair that are like tree
rings, it's black then white then black then white. And also a bunch
who are all white so it seems random.

Yeah, the dark in my beard waxes and wanes - it waxes seriously shortly
after I run a course of antibiotics.

Aiden is always carrying a bag in his scenes lately. It isn't part of the script but there is always this bag on his shoulders. I'm wondering if he is in treatment for a health problem that requires a monitor or line feed?

I watched for it this (well, last) evening. Didn't see
any bags, and he was walking around reasonably well.

(No running or other heavy movement)

I saw an interview that said "despite the darkness in my life..." I was just curious to know if he was okay.

I imagine part of his"darkness" is a child who is autistic and has to live
in a care facility. Quinn is an anti-vaccination activist like Jenny
McCarthy.

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/how-vaccines-autism-battle-continues-despite-scientific-consensus-924080
Exhibit A is Quinn, who insists his daughter only began exhibiting signs of
autism after a 106-degree fever immediately followed her measles, mumps and
rubella (MMR) injection at 14 months in 1990. (Neuroscientists and
neurologists note that the disorder often begins to manifest itself in a
previously “normal” child after the age of 1.) “For me it’s extremely
important to speak up, when I see someone is having a child, or have a
chance to talk in the media, to tell the truth,” he says, adding: “I get
nothing out of this — I get to be made fun of and castigated and called
crazy, even by some of my best friends who can’t open their minds — except
the fervent hope that others won’t have to live through what my family has
to live through.”

Given the multiple DWI arrests, I'm going to say alcohol. His face was puffy and red and eyes glassy in the episode I'm watching S4E22.

I actually knew a guy in the Navy. He went on ONE submarine dive and almost died of a heart attack from stress and claustrophobia. In the next two weeks, he lost a lot of hair and wound up with full of white patches when it grew back. He was around 22-24 years old.
Never went back under, developed constant panic attacks and got a medical release...
