I am an avid TV watcher and (full disclosure) New York-based critic for
the Associated Press who, as a youngster, had an enormous, heart-aching
crush on an actress named Lori Martin. Yeah, the Lori Martin who played
the Juliette Lewis (daughter) role in the original "Cape Fear." But I
didn't know her from that movie -- I was too young to see it. My
infautation was based on the short-lived TV series "National Velvet,"
which aired on NBC from 1960 to 1962. Lori played Velvet Brown (the role
Elizabeth Taylor played in the original film, of course). Anyway, I have
lately been feeling nostalgia for, and might write about, the puppy love I
as a 10-year-old kid felt for 14-year-old Lori three decades ago. So
finally the question(s): Does anybody out there even remember the series?
Is there anyone who felt any similar affection for the series, and is
there anyone who had a similar crush on Lori Martin? I suppose it's a long
shot, but I just thought I'd ask. Any thoughts or recollections would be
appreciated.

WAS I THE ONLY ONE!!!!???

Second thought: Did anybody ever have a similar infatuation on another TV
actor/actress when you were a kid?

thanks in advance

Sorry, I never heard of Lori Martin. But I was hopelessly in love
with Uncle Bill from Family Affair, still like him in fact!
