The Suits opening theme is an except from The Greenback Boogie by Ima Robot.

See the money wanna stay, for your meal
Get another piece of pie, for your wife
Everybody wanna know, how it feel
Everybody wanna see, what it's like . . .

I'll even eat a bean pie, I don't mind
Me and Missy is so very busy busy making money

Alright...

All step back, I'm 'bout to dance The greenback boogie . . .

All right

The Suits theme was based on the song "Greenback Boogie", but it has different lyrics.

Really? I've never understood the lyrics as sung on tv and never heard
the word "beehive", so I quoted the lyrics after finding them on line.

The Web told me the lyrics as written by the composer, so that's first hand.

I dunno what information the captioner was given, 'cuz maybe whoever
transcribed the song (whether it was by or for the captioner) couldn't
understand it any better than I, which is why I looked it up on line.

All these years, I've been told that Google is my friend. Now, Ian claims

@Ian - well done for using closed caption old chap, but Adam is right about the original version. Chances are the numpty who wrote the closed caption wrote it differently on purpose. Who cares anyway - not a competition.
Lets all take a deep breath and calm down.

Ian's wrong that that's right, as he insisted I use CC.

Living in the beehive. I don't mind.

"Beehive of your mind" doesn't make sense, nor does "living in a behive".

If that's what they're singing, I don't get the change from the original lyric.

It makes perfect sense, especially in this context.

"Living in your mind" is a common metaphor for know "you" well.

The mind as a beehive is a lees used metaphor for a guarded and dangerous mind.

"Living in the Beehive of your mind" is metaphorically describing how Harvey Spectre likes to work. this is also what it sounded like to me before looking up the lyrics.

Also, I watch on a number of sources, and the closed captioning always comes up differently depending on where I watch it. I have checked since reading this.

99% of the time on this show the CC has the wrong lyrics. There was one episode late last season where the captions were correct. I didn't think the CC captions made sense until they finally put the right ones up. I forget which episode it was that had the correct captions but it was a recent one late last season.

I personally don't think that being pie makes a lot of sense. Beehive however makes sense especially with the buzzing sound they make when they sing the lyrics busy busy. I also cannot find any confirmed lyrics from the artist online, every site has different lyrics. Here's what I hear when I listen to the song:

See the money wanna stay, for your meal
Get another piece of pie, for your wife
Everybody wanna know, how it feel
Everybody wanna see, what it's like . . .

Living in a beehive, I don't mind
Me and Missus so very busy busy making money

Alright...

Yal'll step back, I'm 'bout to dance
The greenback boogie . . .

My two cents :-) totally love this song!

I'm pretty sure it's:

Everybody loves to poop in the sea
Don't believe me ask your mom or your wife
Pooping in the ocean is just so clean
It's so clean you don't even have to wipe
Just a little pressure and it's out
It's very pleasant, so easy easy on your tummy

Oh My God! Is that a shark?

Floating poopy.

I still can't figure out if the 5th line is 'I'll even eat a bean pie, I don't mind' or 'living in the beehive, of your mind/i don't mind' as they both work. The beehive line would also make sense of the next line, about the Missy, as it is sung with a buzz at certain points.
I have all the DVD's of Suits, but I also have Netflix.
According to the DVD subtitles, the lyrics are as above,
According to Netflix, these are the lyrics:
'SEE THE MONEY,
WANNA STAY FOR YOUR MEAL
GET ANOTHER PIECE OF PIE,
FOR YOUR WIFE
EVERYBODY WANNA KNOW
HOW IT FEEL,
EVERYBODY WANNA SEE
WHAT IT'S LIKE,
LIVING IN A BEE HIVE,

The song is originally from this album:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Another_Man%27s_Treasure

This is the real song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Slgj96aXgQk

The SUITS themesong is actually a cut and paste from two different parts of the original song.

In the original song the line about the bean pie is there, but the part used for the suit theme song is from the later verse in the original song which is, in fact:

Livin in the bee hive, of your mind.

Case solved!

PS: original video is awesome.

me (brem...@gmail.com change)

This thread is fairly old, but I think it's still worthwhile answering.

The lyrics are as follows:
See the money wanna stay, for your meal
Get another piece of pie, for your wife
Everybody wanna know, how it feel
Everybody wanna see, what it's like
Living in the beehive, I don't mind
Me and Missy is so very busy busy making money
Alright
I'll step back, while you go dance
The Greenback Boogie

'Living in the beehive, I don't mind' makes sense because it refers to the busy life in New York City - the beehive.

I always thought that it was:
Living in the behive of your mind
Me and Mrs. busy, busy, making money
All right

And it makes much more sense than a bean pie! Those who don't understand the beehive reference are probably too young to have heard "busy as a bee" and similar references; hear the similarity between busy, busy and buzzing, buzzing...beehives are often referred to for chaotic activity...very busy, very noisy and the idea is that they are swarming and busy making money.
But to those who say that closed captioning is your friend, I have two words for you, "The Voice". Check out all of their mistakes on well known songs. CC is usually wrong.
I don't claim to know how this song was written, that is why I checked here, but it makes more sense when you use the beehive lyrics. IMHO
