I bring this up because she seems frightened to draw attention to her
big boobs. She's always covering them up in sweatshirts, turtlenecks
and button downs, not to mention that she seems to wear the type of
bras that minimize the size of large breasts. And when she's in a
bedroom scene, she totally covers them up with a sheet.
Out of a whole season of Just Shoot Me, 22 episodes or so, she'll
maybe really 'bust out' like two or three times. Ugh, I wish she wore
the tops Nina wears, then she'd bust out every episode.
It's really a shame that Laura seems to be ashamed of them, she has
perhaps the most awesome set of breasts on tv today, I just wish she
wouldn't be so damn stubborn about showing them off a little bit.
You'd think she would since she has nothing else going for her.
She is the ugliest female on TV

Can't you just buy a copy of "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" and let
this go? Are we being subjected to this because Markie Post and "Night
Court" are no longer on?
LSG, like any sane person, knows she's no longer young enough to
play a jiggling ingenue and would rather spend her time on the show
*acting.* Did pretty well until it became "The Adventures of David
Spade." The show would be tacky and lame if her feminist character
wandered around the office in a tank top all the time. Remember, Pena,
with a great rack comes great responsibility.

The ironic thing is that I think turtlenecks actually accentuate the
curves on most women, and San Giacomo is no exception. I think one
reason she deemphasizes her chest is because they're, if anything, too
nautural. There's an obvious sag that's going on that's particularly
noticable in the earlier seasons.
There's also been debate, partially fueled by myself, that she may have
had a breast reduction during the summer. They seemed noticably smaller
in the first few episodes this season; now I just think it was, as you
alluded to above, a function of her wardrobe choices.
I do share your thoughts about her body; she's got one of the better
ones on TV, especially considering she's not very tall and that she is
now 40. However, I can understand her desire not to sex it up. Besides,
she's done that in a lot of her other work, as evidenced by the seminude
video captures of her that populate the Internet.

I haven't seen her except on "Just shoot me" so I don't know about other
parts, but that attitude is perfectly consistent with her character on the
show. Wants to be respected for her brains instead of her body. Insecure about
her body because of all the models around when she was growing up, etc.

Absolutely agreed. Her clothing is consistent with the character.
And she's shown in earlier roles that she's not shy about her body.
Nina (Wendie Malick), coaching Maya (Laura San Giacomo) to be more
assertive, instructs her to stand up straight, throw her shoulders back and
her chest out. When Maya does so, Nina exclaims "My God, Maya, can you even
see your shoes?"
Flat-chested Nina considers breast implants, and starts wearing a silicone
prosthetic around the office to "try out" her post operative figure." When
Maya tells Nina she doesn't think the surgery is a good idea, Nina dismisses
her, saying Maya only wants to be the only woman in the office with large
breasts
"Drat!" Maya says in a mock-British accent. "You've discovered my diabolical
plan to rule the world with my bosoms!"
*********
With those two gags, "Just Shoot Me" has milked all of the comic
possibilities out of Laura San Giacomo's breasts.
...let me qualify that ...

Bottom line: *ANY* subject brought up in a USENET newsgroup can be called
trolling. People post to get a discussion started. Trolls are generally
defined as people who deliberately post outrageous statements in the hopes
of drawing flame messages. By that definition, what constitutes depends in
large measure on what you consider outrageous.
If they were trolling, it seems clear that *you* fell for it.
In other words, trolling is in the eye of the beholder when the beholder
doesn't like a particular subject. I could call *you* a troll for trying to
stifle a discussion in a public forum.
But I don't think that's what you were doing. You were just expressing
an opinion iin public, because you have the right to do so. Just like other
people have the right to discuss a famous actress's breasts.

Okay, put a different way--Mr. Pena seems to be obsessed with this subject.
He has started threads with similar titles on this subject since at least
1999. In fact, in his first post, he claimed to have a website devoted to
the subject.
That seems a little, well, _odd._ Perhaps he requires therapy?

No.
Why is the choice between being ashamed of them and flaunting them? I
don't know Ms. San Giacomo, but I think there are more than 2
possiblities.

Orville Redenbacher devoted about 30 years of his life to perfecting a
popcorn hybrid. This could be viewed as an unhealthy obsession, if you look
at it in terms of what he might have accomplished had he put the same
intelligence and industry into, say, curing cancer. But popcorn was what
interested him. I would not have suggested therapy for Redenbacher, even if
I didn't understand or appreciate his passion.

Yes, but at least Orville didn't just *talk his acquaintances'
ears off*, while never saying anything new.

The difference is, Mr. Pena can't make a fortune off of telling people about
Laura San Giacomo's breasts...

are more people in the world who would pay to read about Laura San Giacomo's
