Film, television and stage star Bernadette Peters has been acting and
singing professionally since she was ten-years-old -- which from the
looks of it was only a few years ago!
Here's a 37-year-old Bernie in 1985 (left) -- and the ageless, 60-year-
old widow (SIXTY!) at her NYC book signing on Thursday (right).
Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia ain't got nuthin' on this golden
girl!

They should get her for the new cable version of 'Match Game'.

I bet Stephanie Miller's available. Stephanie Miller is *always*
available.
Well, Burt Reynolds is washed up enough, but maybe he's got the
arrogance of a Richard Dawson than a self-depreciating humour of a CNR.

Two-time Tony Award Bernadette Peters began filming her role in the new
Lifetime film "Living Proof" this past weekend in New Orleans.
Executive-produced by Renee Zellweger, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the
star-studded film also boasts Angie Harmon, Amanda Bynes, Swoosie Kurtz,
Regina King, Jennifer Coolidge, Trudie Styler, Tammy Blanchard, John
Benjamin Hickey, Paula Cale and Harry Connick Jr.
Based on Robert Bazell's book, "Living Proof" casts Connick, Jr. as UCLA
Dr. Dennis Slamon, who developed Herceptin, a drug to battle breast
cancer.
The Storyline Entertainment-Sony Pictures TV film is scheduled to air on
the cable network in October.
The film casts Bynes as Slamon's assistant; Harmon as Lilly Tartikoff,
who helped the doctor raise funds for his research; Blanchard as the
first patient to test the drug; Kurtz as Blanchard's grandmother; Peters
as the first woman to be saved by the drug; Styler and Coolidge as other
participants in the study of the drug; King as a survivor of breast
cancer; Hickey as another scientist; and Cale as the wife of Dr. Slamon.
The script for "Living Proof" was penned by Vivienne Radkoff. Dan
Ireland directs.
Peters' newest live recording, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc.—Bernadette Peters
Live at Carnegie Hall (The Rest of It)," is available on the Angel
Records label.
Masterworks Broadway has also released a "Legends of Broadway" CD
celebrating her theatrical career. Peters' screen credits are numerous.
Peters is also a best-selling author for her new children's book,
"Broadway Barks."
