He's never been in TBBT at all, AFAIK. Sheldon doesn't really keep in
touch with his old friends at all.
I can relate to it. I was in a decent sized clique in high school. I see
one of them frequently because he lives in the area and we both play
bridge (but we don't socialize outside of it), and when I go back home I
try to get in touch with one other friend from those days (but he's
getting ready to move to Hawaii). I've lost touch with everyone else
(I'm Facebook friends with one or two, but I never actually use FB).
To people like us, it's very much "out of sight, out of mind".
