the real spoiler was the ending of Young Sheldon, where Parsons narration
mentions the children he will have one day. I like the subtle way they blended
the two shows, with Sheldon's brother and sister on BBT. They mentioned his
father but not Meemaw. You can also see many of Sheldon's quirks in her
boyfriend.

What surprised me about the narration at the end of YOUNG SHELDON was
that it was by a future Sheldon, one who's been married for quite a
while and has had kids, presumably with Amy. I'd just assumed that
adult Sheldon was contemporary with THE BIG BANG THEORY.

As for Mee-Maw, they shot a scene where Sheldon talks to her on the
phone. She can't come to the wedding because she's in her 90s and
can't travel. The scene was cut for time. Now why they didn't cover
it with a line ("I talked to Mee-Maw, she's fine"), I don't know. I
also don't know why Leonard's mother, Sheldon's friend, was unaccounted
for.

Yeah, Sheldon definitely learned a lot from that professor, so I guess
he'll be around for a while.

Like the way he asks about having coitus.

So they ripped off HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER?

Dems & the media want Trump to be more like Obama, but then he'd
have to audit liberals & wire tap reporters' phones.

It's a fairly common device. It just surprised the hell out of me that
we were listening to a Sheldon for whom THE BIG BANG THEORY is in the
past -- and pretty far back, too, from the tone of the thing.

The biggest spoiler was the bride. She should have been
dropped a long time ago.

I was wondering why his bestie who introduced him to comic books and
loved trains with him in Young Sheldon wasn't at the wedding.

Maybe Sheldon is nicer now and didn't want to make things bad for Leonard??

He's never been in TBBT at all, AFAIK. Sheldon doesn't really keep in
touch with his old friends at all.

I can relate to it. I was in a decent sized clique in high school. I see
one of them frequently because he lives in the area and we both play
bridge (but we don't socialize outside of it), and when I go back home I
try to get in touch with one other friend from those days (but he's
getting ready to move to Hawaii). I've lost touch with everyone else
(I'm Facebook friends with one or two, but I never actually use FB).

To people like us, it's very much "out of sight, out of mind".

Yes. I haven't been in contact with anyone from high school since two
years or so following graduation. Graduation was 48 years ago. (I
recall a line from SIX FEET UNDER: "Everybody has friends from high
school." Nope!)

I've already begun to get email about the coming 50th reunion (I don't
know how they found me), but I won't be going. For one thing, I don't
live in that part of the country anymore and, for another, I don't want
to go.

it would have been a diversity opportunity since there are no SE Asian
characters on TBBT, which is an anomaly given the number of Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese working in high tech in US.

There's the Korean spy that Leonard was dating before he met Penny.
