This episode was probably the WORST so far (and for seaQuest DSV, that's REALLY
saying something):

* The fact that Krieg just blubbered nonsense (or nothing at all) during his
encounter with the big squid was pathetic.

* How come everyone right up to commander level seemed happy to totally break
the rules for some shiny stones ? Highly unprofessional.

* The utter nonsense of a huge shiny squid wrapping itself around seaQuest
reminded me 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

Personally, I think the quality of seaQuest DSV scripts makes me think they
dropped them down a deep sea trench, rescued the soggy bits of paper and then
stuck them randomly back together. Verdict: seaQuest DSV is CRAP and I have
doubts I'll be watching many more. What I don't understand is that crud like
SQDSV gets a good Saturday tea-time slot and only a couple of months behind
the US w.r.t. airing dates and yet vital stuff like ST:TNG and ST:DSN gets
woefully shafted (esp. by the BBC, who laughably haven't screened Seasons 4 to
6 of ST:TNG or ANY ST:DSN episodes yet...thank goodness for Sky One).

In fact, SQ is on Sun...@6.30pm in the UK. Admittedly all the episodes
screened so far, bar the pilot and "Games" haven't been that good at all, but
I'm willing to give the series it's chance.

Comparing SQ to Trek isn't such a good idea - the first season of TNG was so
bad I really didn't want to watch TNG again. It's only as I have to write
about SF that I watched it. I feel that TNG peaked in season 3 and had gone
downhill all the way. It's gotten really boring now and has only has about
a dozen decent episodes in it's 6 1/2 season run so far.

Still, this isn't a Trek newsgroup so I'll end this article now.

I think it looka like it could get up to ST:TNG standards. There are no
vital flaws in the setting or characters so it only needs better scripts
(that one with the great library was good, as was the one with Hannibal Lechter
underwater )

Hey, TNG seems to be constantly improvin to me.

The famous "Maybe it'll be better tonight" attitude, as practiced by
students on their way to the TV room since time immemorial, or at least
since the time when Star Trash and Dr. Who were the main guilty pleasures
of campus life.
