The British comedy actress, Patricia Hayes has died after a long illness. She
was 88.

Hayes was a permanent fixture in British TV sitcom in the 60s and early 70s
with her brash Cockney character appearing in shows such a Til Death Us Do
Part, however it was her appearance in the leading role of Edna, The Inebriated
Woman which brought her critical acclaim and a BAFTA award.
