I guess you won't be able to run your little 'scam' for much longer now 'Mr
Blackstar' or should I say,

http://www.blckstar.co.uk/scp/id/scottware (I munged that address, don't
want anybody helping to fund his little affiliate scheme accidently.)

Thanks,
Yes I get a piddley 5% on a dvd if someone buys it clicking through
http://www.blckstar.co.uk/scp/id/scottware , you do the maths! It' aint
going to make me rich! The fact that I'm an affiliate doesn't mean you're
charged any more when you turn up either so no harm done there, hardly a
scam as you accuse.

I hope you don't loose your job when you get a family to support too MR
TheGrea...@hotmail.com cause it people like you who'll make me loose
mine! S'pose you're happy now!

No, but if everybody on these groups bought one £20 DVD after
clicking your link, you'd probably make a week's wages. Not to
mention that the affiliation persists if they go back later, according
to the SCP page at BlackStar, so if anyone here wound up as a
regular customer you'd make even more.

Let me clear up a few things about you for everybody here, scum.

First: the site in question isn't even a site in your country. That
makes it painfully clear that you're not recommending them because
you think they're good, but rather because you can make money
out of it.

Second: you intend to make money from it. That makes it
unsolicited commercial advertising, and the multiposting makes it
spam.

Third: you abused the SCP system, which is intended as payment
for website admins who put BlackStar clickthrough ads on their
sites, not as an excuse for vermin like you to spam all and sundry.
That makes your post a scam because you're trying to get money
you don't deserve - not from us, but from BlackStar.

Fourth: you set up your post to hide these facts. That makes you
a reprehensible, deceitful little bug in addition to being a spammer
and a scammer.

So yes, I hope you lose your job. I hope your wife leaves you
and takes your kids to make a better life for themselves than the
one they have with such a morally deficient wretch, and that you
wind up sucking cocks in public lavatories to pay for a crack
habit. It's no more than you deserve.

(PS: reported to ISP again for reposting spam.)

You got rumbled, put your hands up and be honest. If you'd put your
affiliate link into your sig, and you made it clear that's what it was,
that wouldn't have been so bad (I'm guessing Blackstar wouldn't think so) it
would still be spam mind, so eventually somebody would've complained. But
you hid it away as a link that simply said "Blackstar", in other words, you
were trying to scam people into making money for you, at theirs and
Blackstars expense.

How on Earth are you going to lose your job, wife and kids just because
somebody saw through your little scam. Were you making more money from this
than you said, or a you just bleating out nonsense to make me feel guilty?

>S'pose you're happy now!

Totally indifferent, I'm afraid.

I apologise, I didn't realise this area was so touchy.

This is how my thought process worked in the beginning, which was obviously
wrong:

I am a member of a UK affiliate program (blackstar) because of buying
products from them earlier that I could not get in Australia. I was
impressed with their service and found they had an affiliate program so
thought I'd give it a go.

Upon trying to promote their products I thought I'd visit some UK newsgroups
and put a short, quick to load, clear subject listing informing the UK
people that there as a, in my opinion, quality place you can buy UK dvd's
etc, of which I thought may be of interest to the UK people.

I didn't use pornographic material, foul language, racial claims, I didn't
sell your e-mail to a company and fill up your personal e-mail address box.
I don't call you at home and try and sell you a home alarm system. I simply
put a quick message about a online retailer in the UK.

I meant no harm, no scam, no rip offs. I wasn't deceiving people with
faulty, low quality or illegal products I was just showing a retailer for
those who were looking. That's all I thought I was doing but you make it out
as if I'm the tax man or a copper with a speed camera at the bottom of a
hill.

I apologise that this has caused you to get so angry Mr Ackerley & Mr
Clayton. I only hope people treat you more kindly for the rest of your days.

Apology to all who were offended.

Scott

Well... I'M not going to sit back and take your apology - you fucking fat
smelly CUNTY WANK. My only hope (which is threefold) is that you get hit by
a bus which leaves you paralysed from the neck down... you're left by the
side of the road for 2 weeks licking drain water to stay alive because no
one could be bothered to come to your aid... and finally - a homeless man
steals all your clothes and wallet and drops a concrete slab *cornerways*
into your eye from a great height. (loser)

I apologise for the crosspost, I'm not sure which newsgroup "scottie" will
read my reply in. Yes it should probably be taken to email, but this is the
last public reply to this thread I will make.

> I apologise, I didn't realise this area was so touchy.

After reading to the end of this post, your apology smacks of sarcasm. Do
try harder.

So tell us how impressed you are with Blackstar's service, and be honest
about it.

Have you spoken to Blackstar regarding your use of their affiliate program
to spam newsgroups? No, I don't suppose you have, if you write to them and
tell them exactly what you did with regards to your crossposted message, and
what you wrote in it, I would be interested to hear their response. If they
actually condone it, then email their reply to me and I will publicly
apologise to you.

It was the use of your 'hidden' link that I had the greatest objection to.

No, but I expect I have been mysteriosly signed up for more Asian pr0n spam.

But you hid the full link, and you didn't stress your affiliation with
Blackstar.

Rather, I pointed out to other people what your Blackstar link actually
linked to.

> I apologise that this has caused you to get so angry Mr Ackerley

Ah, you are the l33test Googler I have ever met. Will you be posting my home
address at some point so folks can come round, beat me and push dog shit
through my letterbox?

>& Mr Clayton.
>I only hope people treat you more kindly for the rest of your days.

Thinly veiled threat, or more sarcasm? I expect to be treat the same way I
treat others.

> Apology to all who were offended.

I wasn't offended until you posted my surname, yes it's easily attainable,
but it still offends me that you posted it in a fit of 'oneup-manship', and
for no other reason. People who know me well enough in Usenet, and elsewhere
on the net, know my real name and that's fine, I choose to let them know.
