She still appears on television very occasionally, most recently as a
bride-to-be in "The Bill" (although that was in 1992!) and as a
hospital patient in "Health and Efficiency".

Well, I'm not sure about any career change but she certainly did a
topless spread in a top-shelf magazine a few years after leaving the
programme, as well as I think a Page 3 appearance in Murdoch's comic.

A mate of mine (who was once a regular on this very newsgroup!) used
to have the issue in question, but sold it on to someone sadder <g>
for a considerable sum. True!

Nope. Even the feature on "ex-pupils" in the "Grange Hill" tenth
anniversary book used a head-shot from the above photo spread to
accompany PAB's bio and credits!

She did a topless set quite a few years ago which appeared in various
magazines and newspapers.
She also did a "Screen 2" called "Wonderland" in which she was also
topless (part of a dolphin show in a seaside resort).

I think you'll find that was Simone Hyams (Calley Donnington in
"Grange Hill"), not Paula Ann Bland (unless you know something I don't
<g>). Hyams had a brief role in Winner's "Dirty Weekend" and, if
memory serves me correctly, ended up on the cutting room floor (ooh
err).
Returning to PAB, in real life she was paired off with Peter Moran
(Pogo Patterson in "Grange Hill") for years, although I have no idea
whether they're still together now.
