This was called "Hickory House" (or something very similar to that). I
can't remember who the female presenter was but the guy was Alan
Rothwell (of Coronation St (late '60s) , Brookside (1986) and Picture
Box (early 80's)).

I'm talking about a young childrens TV programme in the early to mid
70's. It was set in a house, with a woman as a presenter.

There were two puppet characters that I remember. One was a cushion, on
a sofa, called Humphrey. He was always pinching things, as cushions in
real life are always hiding car keys etc. The other was a mop head,
called Dusty, who lived in the kitchen.

Does anyone know what it was called? Or have any other info?

I believe you're thinking of Hickory House: Humphrey Cushion and
Dusty Mopp were puppet characters in this programme, although
I recall that the presenter was Alan Rothwell, although there
may have been a female co-presenter as well.

Yes, there was a female presenter. Her first name was Nicolette. I seem to
remember this series used to alternate with 'Pipkins';Hartley Hare etc.

I was only about five at the time, so I could be wrong about the female
presenter. I just wanted to know what it was called - it's just one of
little things that's been on my mind for years.

So I wasn't imagining her. I don't remember the man at all though.

I remember Pipkins much better - especially the bit when they said "It's
time ... to tell a story." - and loads of pictures of clocks and
watches would come up - but I'm digressing.

I thought it was Amanda Barrie, at least to begin with. It was part
of the Rainbow / Mr Trimble / (Inigo) Pipkin(s) grouping.

Yep, its definitely "Hickory House", a kid's show from Granada
that ran for most of the 70s.

Alan Rothwell was one of the presenters, there were others too but
I can't remember them.

If anyone has anything from this series on video, PLEASE CONTACT
ME!!!!
