The series is located in the mythical town of Denton which is supposed
to be in the Thames Valley. I was wondering where the series was
really filmed. I noticed in episode a couple of weeks ago a restaurant
called the "Milwaukee Exchange", now the Exchange chain of restaurants
all have a unique city name (ie. in Reading it is the San Francisco
Exchange). Does anyone know the location of the Milwaukee branch?

I think most of "Touch of Frost" is filmed in Yorkshire. We noticed that a
stretch of coastline used was somewhere in Yorkshire & the University used in
last Sunday's episode was the University of Leeds. As it is made by YTV, I
guess this is pretty probable. Why it is set in the Thames Valley, I don't
know...

Actually, I believe this was Bretton (sp?) College, where my brother is a
student. He claims he walked across in the background while they were
filming.

Some of it may have been but the tutors office was definitely in Leeds cos
you could see the university logo in the background. The residential block
was Bodington Hall at Leeds cos I know the people who's room it was. They
were kicked out for a few days, but they got to appear as extras. The pub
used (The Waterman?) was also nearby cos they were in that scene as well.

A Touch of Frost is filmed almost entirely in Yorkshire. My little claim to fame
is that I was an extra in the last series when I was still a student at Leeds - they
pretended that Harrogate was Bristol! Also the episode two
weeks ago tried to make people think that the Civil Hall in Leeds was a magistrates
court!

I do however enjoy the series a great deal - its a shame that its all over
for this season.

A lot of it is filmed in the Leeds area.
I never knew it was supposed to be Thames Valley!

A couple of weeks ago, in the episode where the naked woman jumped off the
carpark, I think that the flat opposite was in Wood Lane, Wakefield.
Denton railway station is really Wakefield Westgate.

In last week's episode, "The Waterman" looked very much like the old
boating house, recently turned into a cafe, beside Roundhay Park lake.

Hmmm.... There is a Denton near Stockport in Greater Manchester. ANd
in the series, Stockport is mentioned quite a lot. So it looks like it
was filmed in Yorkshire using Mancunian names!

They filmed Seton House (and possibly Mortain as well??). They did it early
this academic year - November I think)

But they said that the lorry driver often goes "up north". It was revealed
that he was in Nottingham. Is that Up north? I think not. :-)

I'm sure it is supposed to be set in the south. I noticed in one
episode that Frost was looking at some files that had Thames Valley
Constabulary on them. They also mention places like Basingstoke and
Reading as though they are local.

}I worked in Nottingham for a while, and they got Central TV, I don't
}think that carries Look North. Could be wrong!

But Central is ITV. Look North is a BBC Prog on BBC North (from Leeds -
speaking of which, I passed the guy who does the sport for Look North in the
street the other day - major celeb!!). I think if you get central, you will
get Midlands Today or similar. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyone live in
Nottingham??
