The Dingles arrive back from down under to find that Sam has handed
himself into the Police.
Paddy wakes up on Viv's sofa and doesn't know how he got there. Kelly
comes down stairs and catches Paddy and Viv sitting on the sofa, she
assumes Paddy and her mother have been sleeping together.
Viv tells kelly that Paddy had too much drink and fell asleep on the
sofa.
Becky brings Jerrie to the new home. She has borrowed Jerrie from the
foster parents for the day, unknown to Emma.
Paddy receives an earful from Betty for staying out all night. Paddy
tells her that he stayed at a mates house.
The Dingle tribe go down to the Police station to see Sam but are told
he is up before the Magistrate that morning, they rush off to the
Court.
Paddy is having difficulty in remembering what happened between him
and Viv.
Mandy goes to see Paddy and asks him to help out with Sam's Court
Case.
Betty finds out from Eric that Paddy stayed the night at Viv's.
Lisa goes to see if Eric will come to Court as a character witness for
Sam.
Eric comments that Zak is the only criminal that the Australians ever
sent back.
After threatening Eric with what Zak will do to him, Lisa convinces
Pollard to go to Court.
Sophie and Zoe are chatting in the Woolpack about a clinic which will
help them in their quest for a child.
Sam is up in Court and his solicitor confirms his acceptance to a
guilty plea on charges of theft and breaking his bail conditions.
Zak speaks up and is recognised by the Magistrate as someone who she
has had to deal with in the past.
Eric speaks up as a character witness and confirms he is happy to give
Sam his job back and will help him with his future employment and set
a good example.
Betty has a go at Viv in the Woolpack over her night with Paddy.
The Magistrate is pleased with Mr Pollocks testimony (much merriment
amongst the Dingles at the mis pronunciation of Erics name) and
decides to fine sam £100 plus £300 damages and £50 for breaking his
bail conditions.
She rules that the fine must be paid immediately and Eric ends up
coughing the money up.
Emma comes home to find Jerrie there. She isn't pleased and tells her
mother that she is annoyed at not being told before hand that Jerrie
was coming.
Becky tells her that Jerrie's place is with them as a family.
Butch is morose as he is missing a girl he met in Australia.
Sam gets a present from Mandy, a digery doo (spelling?).
He discovers it has a spider in it.
Emma won't say goodbye to Jerrie.
Becky tells her that she is prepared to adopt Jerrie and look after
her.
Paddy gets the spider out of the digery doo and tells the Dingles that
it is a deadly Australian Sydney Funnel Web spider.
The spider is put in a glass jar for safe keeping.
Jack is in the Woolpack drowning his sorrows with Ned.
He tells Ned he loves both Sarah and Rachel but feels he has ruined
both of their lives.
Viv and Paddy bump into each other in the Woolpack. Viv wants to
discuss what happened the night before.
Kelly blackmails Paddy into buying her drinks to stop her telling her
dad and Mandy about what had happened.
Jack goes to his mothers cottage and the episode ends with him
sitting, reflecting, in the dark.
And that's how it ended.

I was quite impressed by Marlon's savoir faire upon meeting the spider,
"Looks just like a common or garden house-spider to me"
I am never going to go near Yorkshire again if that's what the spiders
look like. I once met a tarantula in Croatia but that's another
story.....

Molly, the idea is that the spider came from Australia along with the
"Rolf Harris Torture Instrument".
That's why Paddy called it the Sydney whats it, get it <G>.

Yes, I realise that, the point being that if Marlon thinks a Sydney
funnel web looks like a common or garden house spider, then Yorkshire
common or garden house spiders must be pretty scary mothers. 8-0
