Claire Grogan joins the cast of Eastenders

ITV Teletext report that Claire Grogan is to join the cast of Eastenders from
November. Claire was lead singer in 80's pop band Altered Images, and stared in
the classic film Gregory's Girl.

Any guesses on who she'll play? A relative of Ruth, perhaps?

portrays her can spend more time with her children - is he right? He was
then really pleased that Claire was joining the cast but worried she would
'replace' Ruth.

She looks nothing like Ruth, she presents a show on VH1. But her acting
capabilities are probably bad enough to take over the role without
anyone noticing the difference!

The things some people worry about... ;-)

She wasn't the one who was in the last series of Red Dwarf was she?

No, she was the one in the first couple of series.
(Chloe Annette (sp?) was Kochanski in the last series.)

Don't we have enough people on EE that stare? George, Grant, Alan,
Peggy, Phil, Bianca, and so on. How about getting someone who can

No she played Kochanski in series 1-6 and then Cloe Annette plated Kochanski
in series 7.

I wish it was the far more appealing Chloe Annett joining the cast
istead of the sickly Grogan. Who is betting she is actually going
toreplace wassernname as Ruth? There is a similarity other than the
annoying Scots accent.

Hear Hear! My overwhelming memory of Claire "crap singer" Grogan was how
she managed to look really crap on Saturday Swapshop. Anyone who looked
crap on that programme really *was* crap.
