Is there a site for this old series. Dennis Waterman and, I think, Jan
Francis? I wonder why she dropped out while Dennis was in jail. They
clicked so well.

There's my episode list:

http://freespace.virgin.net/martin.underwood/staylucky/

There aren't any photos: I didn't have a computer that had a video-grabbing
card when Stay Lucky was last shown. The relationship (love-hate, but mostly
love) between Dennis Waterman and Jan Francis was superb, and Lively and
Pippa were equally strong characters. It wasn't quite so good after Jan
Francis left - Susan George's and Leslie Ash's characters weren't quite so
good, and I find that there's something rather unwatchable about Susan
George after a while, for some reason that I can't work out.

I'm glad I checked my web page because I discovered that the copy on the web
site had got truncated somehow, so I've put that right.

Highlights for me:

- the scene at the end of the second series ("Shingle Beach") when Sally is
talking to the fisherman (Arthur White, David Jason's brother) who recounts
how he witnessed Thomas and Sally "enjoying themselves" on his fishing net
"It took me hours to unpick the knots - but it was worth it..."

- the scene with the butterfly tattoo on Samantha's bottom when Thomas
catches a first glimpse of her while she's having a shower and then refers
to it later "There are no flies on Samantha - even of the butter variety".

- Pippa's ferocious, righteous-indignation outbursts

- almost any scene with Jan Francis in it...

Oh the shame! How did I forget the best one of all: the episode "The Sisters
of Achill" set in Ireland. Eve Matheson was heart-meltingly lovely. I've
just remembered that I *did* grab some stills from that episode, so I'll put
some on the web page.

Yes - those worked for me too! Especially the fishing net. but almost all
of the episodes. I too lost interest - the chemistry between Francis and
Waterman worked like real life.

thanks for the response

PS following your page took me to a stack of memories. JGF for one.

Out of interest, are Francis, Nicholas and Waterman in anything current or
recent?
