I've been trying to remember the words to the theme song for "Supergran". It
was a programme shown on Scottish Television sometime during the mid-eighties.
It's been driving me nuts all week. If anyone could help me with this, not
only will I be really grateful, but you'll be saving me from my own insanity
brought on by this flipping song.

It starts off something like: "Stand back superman, iceman, spiderman, batman
and robin too..." And then I hit a blank... So, if you can help please, post,
email... just help me out. Cheers thanks a lot!!

Don't want to cause a ruckus for BA Baracus,
But I've got a match for you,
She makes them look like a bunch of fairies,
She's got more bottle than United Dairies,
Hang about, look out,
For Super Gran.

Then it goes something like -

She's a serious granny (Supergan)
A serious granny (Supergran)
She'll do things that you never saw your granny do,
There's nothing that she cannae do!

..and I think that's it. It was by Billy Connoly, IIRC.
I'm sure the "fairies" line wouldn't be allowed now.

Cheers.

There was also another verse which included the lines:

"She makes them look like big girls' blouses
She's got more front than a row of houses"

The next bit was something like
"...don't want to cause a ruckous with B.A. Barracus"
and then *I* hit a blank.

Anyone else know the next bit?

And my mate's Dad played the errant football team manager (Mr. Eleven
or something) in one of the episodes.

Also his mum was that woman in the awful Drambuie advert with the posh
foreign bloke giving his woman a diamond ring.

Luvvie families eh?

The Scarey bloke was Iain Cuthbertson who played 'The Scunner
Campbell' in Supergran and 'Charlie Endell' in Budgie.

Hazrl McWitch? Nope. Hazel was played by Molly Weir (sp?). Gudrun
Ure was Supergran.

Chris.

PS: There were also a couple of computer games baseed around the
series too.

Found a Supergran page

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Academy/9749/supergran.html

that has the words as follows:

Stand back Superman, Iceman, Spiderman
Batman and Robin too
Don't wanna cause a fracas, but BA Baracas
Have I got a match for you

She makes them look like a bunch of fairies

She's got more bottle than United Dairies

Hang about -
Look out!
For Supergran

You can take your heroes, your Robert De Niros
Your Al Pacinos too
They say Stallone is just another phoney
He couldn't lace his shoes
After her they're all big girls blouses
She's got more front than a row of houses
Hang about -
Look out!
For Supergran
She's a serious granny (Supergran!)
A serious granny (Supergran!)
She'll do things that you never saw your granny do
<Scunner Campbell>: Is there nothing that she cannae do?
