Our storylines for Tuesday ....

Story A: You Say It's Your Birthday (Gloria, Adam,
Haley and Alex)
Story B: Getting Rid of the Evidence (Westfall, etc)

Story A
The show opens with Haley and Gloria enjoying a pizza dinner.
Haley wants to know what Gloria would do with her birthday if
she could have any wish. Glo wants a party with all of her and
Adams friends, a band, dancing, etc.
In comes Alex and Adam looking for papers. Gloria thinks
about Alex's touch. The two men leave after getting the papers.
Gloria tells Haley to forget any birthday doings.
They talk a bit about Charlie. Haley says he already has
another woman. Glo can't believe it. They start talking
b-day parties again.
Ding dong. It's Maria. Come to see Adam who has cancelled
his last two appointments. She won't be long, someone in the
car with her. Glo starts to show Maria to the library when
Haley asks if she can come along to watch if Maria is going
to yell at Adam.
In the library, Alex has shown Adam a beautiful diamond
bracelet he chose for Gloria's gift. Adam is not pleased.
But Alex says it is perfect. Adam cycnically talks about
giving Gloria a perfect b-day evening with a quiet dinner.
In comes Maria and Gloria. Alex and Goloria leave.
Adam says he is glad Maria came because he is firing her.
She says that's fine, but she wants to know why. Then she
says she can understand he probably would be more comfortable
with a mle doctor. She recommends a uroligist. Adam goes
ballistic about her intruding in his private life. Gloria
comes in to rescue Maria as Adam yells at her to get out.
Meanwhile, Julia has come to the door looking for her
sister. Haley is shocked, but eventually lets her in.
Julia gushes over the lavish digs, but then turns the
talk to Charlie. Haley says he's all her's (Julia's).
As Julia starts to get catty, Maria comes in and drags
her out. Much to Haley's enjoyment.
Back in the library, Gloria and Adam discuss his
firing Maria. He switches the talk to her b-day. She
says she wants a arty with a band and dancing. Adam
goes ballistic yet again. He says a party would be
humilating to him and he can't believe she asked. He
stalks off.
Gloria sits down with a depressed look. Alex comes
in and puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. She reacts
thinking it is Adam. When she realizes it's Alex, she
gets defensive.
They fight about what Alex's place is. Gloria tells
him Adam fired Maria and also spills the beans about his
impotence.
Meanwhile, Adam is being scolded by Haley for not wanting
a party. He turns the tables and talks about Charlie. She
says it is over. Adam says there will be other men. Haley
sarcastically agrees the men will beating her door down
soon. Adam leaves by telling her it may be sooner than
she thinks.
Back in the library, Alex swears to Gloria not to say a
word to Adam about his problem. He tells her he will
play it her way just as Haley walks in to overhear that.

Story B
Brooke is frantic about finding Edmund. Derek puts
out an APB on Westfall's car and the three people in it.
Meanwhile, Westfall is telling Sid to dump Edmund
face down into the quicksand. Sid wants his share of the
take first. Edmund begins to wake up.
Brooke continues to fret that something has happened tp
Edmund. Derek tries to soothe her, but she insists she
is not overeacting.
Back at the swamp, Westfall and Sid continue to quibble
about the money. Edmund grabs for a branch, but Westfall
stomps down on his hand.
Sid pins Edmund down by twisting his arm behind his
back. Westfall has a little ranting fit. Westfall goes
to the other side of the quicksand pit and pulls out a
box tied to a rope. The money is stashed there. He
gives Sid his cut to take care of Edmund.
As Edmund is being dragged toward the pit, he fights back.
But Westfall is all over him and finally pushes him in.
A little while later, derek hears from the station that
Westfall's car has been spotted heading the opposite way
and with only two men in it. Brooke figures he is heading
back to the inn.
Meanwhile, Maria and Julia are back at the apartment
arguing about Julia's behavior - looking for a job, chasing
Charlie, etc. Ding dong, it's Phoebe.
Phoebe is looking for Edmund. Then she goes off on Maria
about how it's all Maria's fault if Edmund is hurt because
she blew his cover by showing up at the cottage. Maria
does a poor job of defending herself.
After Phoebe leaves, Julia wants to know all about Edmund.
Maria tells her to shut up while she tries to call around
looking for Edmund. They fight again about their relationships
with men. Maria says Edmund is not using her the way Bobby
in texas used Julia. Julia says Maria doesn't know anything
and flies out of the apartment.
Over at the Valley Inn, westfall is packing a suitcase
when Derek and Brooke show up. He hides the case in the
closet, puts the money box under the bed and tries to wipe
the mud on the floor up with a towel. He puts some slippers
on before letting the duo in.
Brooke wants to know where Edmund is. Derek tells her to
let him handle it. westfall plays innocent. He says he has
been at a metting with his contractor for the last hour,
but that he did meet with Edaurdo before that. he says he paid
him off so that Phoebe and the other women of the DFL would
never have to deal with him again. I got rid of him
permanently, he smiles.
At the swamp, Edmund is trying to stay calm. He grabs for the
rope that held the money box. But soon the tree it was attached to
begins to give. He thinks about his life and all the reasons to
live. He keeps hoping Brooke will figure out where he is.
In a series of flashes from Derek and Brooke to Edmund, we
see derek and Brooke figure out Westfall was lying about
where he was because of the slippers, the mud, and the towel.
Edmund is slipping further in and thinks he's a goner.
Brooke puts two and two together and comes up with sand.
Edmund yells out her name ....

That's it for this Tuesday ... back to you Melissa.

Tuesday's episode demonstrates why I hope Maria sticks around for a long
time. Eve LaRue is delightful, and can act like a fun, sexy, giggly,
sweet woman (with Edmund) and a consumate, intelligent, capable
professional with a strong personality (with Adam, today), and a tough
and frustrated sister (with Julia). If any writers are lurking,
KEEP MARIA!!

I've got one question about Julia, though. Since Maria was giving her
a ride home from the hospital, and since when they got back to their
apartment, Maria yelled at her for all the dresses lying around the
living room and Julia said she was trying them on for "her interview at
the hospital", does this mean that she wore the outfit she had on for her
interview? If so, I'm not surprised they didn't offer her a responsible
position -- she looked like the star of "I Was a Teenage Ho" :*)

When I see her at the lunch in NY Jennifer, I will tell her Jennifer
Marden thinks she is Wonderful! :) and she should stay on AMC. :)

Jennifer - I think that is an unanswerable question :); I've also got
another: What the HELL happened to Enchantment? Erica just dilly dallies
around with her husband, traveling, taking care of her wild children
and apparently has tossed Enchantment to the wind! Must be nice to
give up work that easily! I sure WISH I could! :))))))))))))))))))))

And, yes, Julia's wardrobe is slightly provocative to say the least!
I never saw this actress before but I know yall have. She is thin as
a rail too (as Lance mentioned Gloria gained a bit of weight and I
agree) Julia looks pretty anorexic (I should look so good...:))))))
She better start dressing warmer! Its cold outside! :)))))

I know i know, i shouldn't be here. Debbie Millard's in a well too in
case your wondering. we share our welldom well :)

CAZ whose gonna try and stay away again for a while! :))))
My work keeps getting harder not easier! Something is wrong! :)

I must agree with Jennifer on this call. Even beyond that ridiculous uniform
suit that Julia would have worn, it would mean:

1) The apartment must have looked that way when they left
(If Julia wore that outfit on a city bus, she would have never made it to hospital).

2) Julia had tried on all of those clothes, finding none suitable, and having
to make due with what she was wearing.

So, we can't possibly believe that was the course of events. Now we get another
possible scenario:

1) Maria gets up to go to work.

2) Julia gets up, tries on about 10 outfits to go to interview, trying
them all on and discarding them in living room. She finally chooses one
and takes bus or taxi to hospital to interview.

3) After not getting offered job as chief of staff or head nurse, Julia
returns home on said transportation and strips off interview suit in
living room, and slips into something 'a little more comfortable'.

4) She returns on said transportation to hospital to get a ride home from Maria.

What a day this girl has had! If I were Maria, I'd ship the girl on the first
boxcar to Fort Worth.

I agree. I think Tuesday's episode was excellent all around, except
for the Hayley/Adam/Gloria stuff. I am getting so sick of watching
Gloria turn into a doormat for Adam any time anyone says anything
*slightly* critical of him. Of course, Maria was great! I just wish
she could have said something (ANYTHING) that could have gotten through
to Adam.

The scenes with Julia were really good as well. Those two look so
much alike, and their acting was so good, it was like watching a couple
of *real* sisters go at it. I LOVED it! I do think, however, that
Julia has some serious problems and she needs a lot more than Maria to
help her work them out. If she doesn't watch out, she might turn into a
Dixie-caliber ho (it looks like she already snagged her first married
guy).

No kidding. The only thing I could come up with is that she *did*
wear that outfit for her interview. From what we've seen of Julia so
far, it seems like something she would do, so I wouldn't put it past
her.

Does anyone know how old Julia is supposed to be? Hayley's age?
Kendall's age? Older? Younger? Somewhere in between?

CAZ, CAZ, me too, me three! Please tell her she is the coolest
and the best. I like her better than Dixie, Erica and Livia put
together. In fact, I like her better than Edmund and Derek too.
She's the first doctor on the show that is also a real down to
earth person. She has great bedside manner and is intelligent and
charming. She's too good for Edmund. They've got to write in
another better hunk for her. Writers, please write in a handsome
intelligent Asian American rocket scientist for her! :-)

Yeah, they should use her to tackle the anexoria angle. As I
watched her walk around Charlie's apt ranting and raving, I
momentarily wondered how she kept her pants up, but then saw she
was wearing a large belt. It reminded me of the belts worn in
one of the MST3K movies from the 60's, which prompted Crow to say
"Care for any pants with that belt?" (since Julia's pants and
belt were both dark (they were black belt and tan pants in the
MST3K movie), it wasn't so noticeable.

Especially if she doesn't REALLY want to work. A classic teenage
thing to do -- make yourself (one way or another) APPEAR unsuitable
for the task at hand, and you won't have to do it.
