Two main storylines for Monday ....
Story A: The devil made me do it or I love him, I love him
not (Glo, Haley, and Adam)
Story B: Not a day goes by ... that we don't yell at the tv:
"You're Tad not Ted!" (Tead and ensemble)
Story A
As the show opens, Glo and Stuart are looking at brochures for
places to go on the honeymoon. They are at Mrytle's. The phone
rings and when Glo answers it's Adam. He says they need to get
together about wedding plans. She is vague with him about when
she can come. As Adam is goading her by asking if she is afraid
to spend the afternoon with him because she might have second
thoughts, Haley is coming home and overhears Adam's end of the
conversation. She sneaks backs out.
After hanging up the phone, Stuart asks Glo why she puts up
with Adam. She tries to explain it is for Dix's sake. And she
says they will have the perfect wedding thanks to Adam and then
they can start living the perfect life Stuart painted for them.
Stuart says he might paint a series of pictures showing every day
of their life together.
Haley shows up saying she is there to volunteer her help with
the wedding plans. Stu makes his exit. After leaving Haley confronts
Glo about the telephone conversation she heard. Glo tries to pass
off her interest in Adam as a security watch on Jr. Haley isn't
buying the story. She says there have been to many weird situations
between Glo and Adam. Haley suggests the next time Glo wants to get
rid of Adam she should try silver bullets.
Glo wants to know why Haley is so worried about this. Haley says
for Stuart's sake and for Dix's. Glo gets nasty and tells Haley if
she was really concerned about Dix she would never have gotten
drunk that night at the beach - that was when it all started. She
immediately regrets her terse remarks and apologizes.
Haley says if Glo hates Adams guts why does she look like she w
wouldn't mind if he jumped her bones. Glo says somtimes she feels
so close to Adam and the next time she feels like pumping 50 rounds
into his back. Haley says she knows the feeling. They commiserate
with each other and Glo gets Haley to agree not to say anything to
Stuart about Adam's advances.
Then she tells Haley that Jack wants her to testify for Dix. But
she is reluctant. Haley says Charlie suggested that she do the
same but she can't bring herself to do it. Haley says they are like
souls sisters in this.
Mrytle arrives with Glo's wedding dress. Haley makes her exit
but not before Glo says they need to talk again. Glo goes upstairs
to try the dress on and Mrytle looks for her pins so she can fit
the dress.
Adam shows up at the door looking for Glo. Mrytle basically tells
him to get lost because of what he did to Dix. She says if Glo wants
to see him she will find him.
Mrytle goes upstairs to fit the dress. Glo says she feels like the
bride she always wanted to be. Mrytle says "Not to give the devil his
due, but you are a knock out of a bride." Glo mumbles something about
the devil taking many pleasing forms. Mrytle remembers that she forgot
her chalk and leaves the room.
As Glo swirls the dress and looks in the mirror, she hears a voice
say that she will make a most stunning bride. Enter Adam.
Story B
The show opens with Tead telling Edmund (at Ed's office) about
his memories. He says he remembers a woman he loved, chicken
fingers and a man he wanted to kill.
Meanwhile, Nola is asking Dix about Tad's picture. Dix explains
that Tad died. Nola says "Of course, the answer was in front of
us the whole time."
Dix is confused about being "the answer" but tells Nola about
Tad's death on Dec. 10, 1990. He was killed by a man named
Billy Clyde Tuggle.
Back at Edmund's, Tead says he doesn't think BCT is the guy
who kidnapped him - he knew the guy as an adult. He and Ed talk
about how to find him. Tad explains all the problems of going
to the police or using other obvious means. Edmund asks how Ted
knows all this stuff. Tead says everyone knows this.
And over at Chandler's, Palmer and Opal have arrived to get
Jr. for his visit with Dix. Adam is not happy about it and is
reluctant to let Jr. go. Opal refers to Adam as a slob sucking
swamp rodent and Palmer threatens Adam's upper plate :)
Jr. comes in and Opal tells him they are taking him to see
his mama. Jr. is excited. Adam agrees to let him go but tells
them to remind Dix it is only for a couple of hours. Palmer
says Adam may be on top now but not for long.
Over at the hospital, Dix is telling the details of Tad's
death and Nola guesses the body was never found. Dix says it
took a long time for her to accept Tad's death but she finally
did. Nola looks very pained. Opal sticks her head in and says
Dix has a visitor (meaning Jr). Before leaving, Dix tells Nola
she wouldn't have made it through without her family and Tad's.
Nola is interested in Tad's family. It's the Martins, Dix says.
Dix goes into the hall to greet Jr. while Nola calls for
Dr. Martin.
At Dix's home later, Opal notices a photo album and starts
going through it. She spots a picture of Tad, Dix, and a young
Jr. Opal tells Jr. to come look at it. Jr. says that's the man
in the park.
Meanwhile, Edmund has had his assistant (Holly) dig up some
facts on BCT. He tells Tead the guy was one mean dude and even
was convicted of kidnapping among other things. But the guy
died on Dec. 10, 1990. Then Edmund says, "Wait a minute this is
the guy who killed Tad Martin."
Tead is hit by another headache and sits down. Edmund call
security to get an ambulance but when he turns around Tead
is gone.
Back at Dix's, the adults are telling Jr. he must be mistaken.
Dix suggests he go up and play in his room for awhile. When he
leaves, the three discuss what happened. Dix realizes that Nola's
inquisitiveness must be because her son looks like Tad. Then Dix
realizes that she wasn't crazy about seeing Tad. She breaks down.
Meanwhile, Nola is telling Dr. Joe's assistant she must see
Dr. Martin. In walks Joe. Nola asks for forgiveness about asking
so many questions about Dix. She says she knows Dix was going
to marry his son.
Nola wants to know all about their story. Joe tells her about Tad's
abandonment in park and how he and Ruth adopted him. Nola looks
happy that Tad had a good childhood. She also is experiencing pain.
After Dr. Joe leaves, Nola frantically tries to find Tead.
Back at Dix's, she is telling Opal and Palmer she is ok. She
explains about how she thought she was crazy when she saw Tead in
the park. She says she relieved, but she doesn't look it.
Menawhile, Tead is in the park hearing everyone's voices and
seeing BCT while hearing Edmund say he killed Tad Martin. Tead
has a mjor headache and is crying. He finally voices his name.
Later at the hsopital, Nola is still looking for Tead when he
comes in. He notices she is distressed and is going for help when
she tells him to stop. She says she has something very important
to tell him.

Myrtle's house has really had a renovation! I know it happened a while
back, but I didn't recognize it until Myrtle herself walked in [love that
woman!]. And I'm surprised you didn't mention how Gloria looked. Her
hair was straight and pulled back by headband (Hillary style) ... she
looked younger and very innocent! Also, whatever she was wearing looked
kind of like something a 50's 12-year-old would wear.

There was some definite bonding going on here. When Gloria marries Adam
[which I believe will happen] Hayley's relationship with her step-mother
will be quite unique. This was a nicely done scene.

The dress was gorgeous! Not overly frilly [I hate frilly], but real
striking. I am no good at describing things, so I won't, but I thought
it was the nicest dress I have seen on a soap (or of course in real life).

I think Nola was happy because she figured that Tad could still be her
son Ted. He was kidnapped, then abandoned and found by Joe. She was also
happy that "Ted" didn't have a bad life. I hope she never finds out about
Opal ... as long as she is going to die, I'd rather have her die thinking
Tad is her son. I know we have had similar speculations, but unless Opal
is lying or a bit touched, Tad IS her son.

Well, I think that I'm in the minority here, but I am going to
go out on a limb :-). I HATED Gloria's straight hair. Several
posters have said that they liked it. I think that Gloria's
super-curly hair is absolutely beautiful, and IMHO, they
are ruining her very best feature by straightening it.

The dress really was georgous. Actually, it reminded me a
lot of my wedding dress, which probably explains why I liked it
so much :-). Do you think that she'll actually get to
wear it, though?

This was really the kiss of death for Gloria and Stewart getting
married. They never or almost never show the wedding dress before
the day of the wedding. Since Gloria was seen by Adam and all us
wearing this beautiful dress I'm sure this wedding won't happen or
at least she won't be wed in that dress.

The dress was very beatiful, but did anyone else notice that
in the dress (and with her straight hair) Gloria appeared to
be all one color? Her hair, skin and dress had almost identical
tones.
Pretty weird.

I definitely think that it will be Adam. The thought

I think that now that we've see it, Gloria can't wear it for the
wedding. This being soap law 437W.9 Viewers can never see the
actual dress before the wedding.
So, maybe she will end up marrying Adam.?!?

Hi Ilene. I can understand what you mean. My hair is along the same
lines (tho not professionally done of course) and I wore my hair
straight for ages but I have naturally curly hair so of course everyone
suggests I wear it curly since its natural and usually the person speaking
has natural straight hair or a perm! :-) Anyway, I now wear it curly
and many folks compliment me on it. I don't think you need to worry,
I don't think she is going to wear it "permanently - no pun intended :-)
straight, (but i could be wrong) but sometimes curly sometimes straight.
I just enjoyed the "change" and thought it looked pretty.

Well, if not for Stuart, then for Adam! :-) I do think she WILL marry
one of them...

I really like the dress, too. I'm looking for something similar with lace
around the neck and no netting.

I didn't say I LIKED it, but then I don't really like her "normal" hair

But will she *think* it's Stewart? Can't you just see Adam masquerading
as Stewart and marrying her? (Or have they done this before? :-) )
Kind of the reverse of the Erica-divorce thing.

The February 2, edition of SOD had an article titled "Famous
Hairstylist Rate Soap Opera Hair. The only character of AMC to be
mentioned was Gloria Marsh. This is what they had to say.
Jose Eber: "Too much hair for such a delicate-boned woman. I think
her hair overwhelms her. THis 80's look isn't well-groomed enough
for today's fashions or lifestyle, so I'd take several inches off,
take out some of the bulk and then blow dry it out for a looser,
straighter look." (This is exactly what I did to my hair in the 80's)
"I'd also eliminate the brassiness of the color, giving her a softer,
honey shade with highlights around the face."
So folks it looks like, after all the complaining we did about the
hairstylist on the show, that they took some professional advice.
I wonder if they will try the henna treament on Gloria next?
