First of all, I would like to thank Eva Weitzel for updating last
Monday's episode for me.

Omar's Palace
-------------

Anxious about her wedding day, Taylor wonders aloud about her new name,
"Princess Laila" and her new life. She resigns with herself that her
father, brother, and husband are gone forever. Taylor then recalls
making a vow to Ridge in which she promised to be with him "till death do
us part." Although she never intended to break that vow, she must do so
now and marry Omar for the good of Ridge and his children. Since Ridge
seemed so happy with his new wife, it would be cruel of her to enter back
into his life. ( Notice that she still does not use the six-letter word,
B-r-o-o-k-e. ) Therefore, her marrying Omar will help her to forget about
her past. Yasmine enters and presents a tiara for Taylor to wear.

Meanwhile at the Palace Hall, Ahmet is overseeing the wedding
decorations. Omar is on the phone, telling the Italian government that
his honeymoon to Rome is not an official state visit and no welcoming
ceremony should be held at the airport. He tells Ahmet he chose Rome
because it is "a city of vibrance" and is perfect for a woman starting a
new life. When Ahmet adds that Rome is a very romantic city, Omar
replies that will be a "bonus" because he is not expecting romance.
Moreover, he does not delude himself into thinking that this wedding day
will have the same joy or memories for Laila as it will for him.
However, he hopes that given time, Laila will find life in Morocco as
fulfilling as the life she had shared with Ridge. Omar states that their
honeymoon will last as long as possible until Laila is ready to forget
about Ridge.

Then Ahmet inquires that the press will want to take pictures and to
interview the newlyweds. Omar assures an amazed Ahmet that Laila has
taken the initiative and consented to wear a veil for public appearances
so that she will not be recognized.

Sally's Office
--------------

Sally shows a frazzled Sol the customers' orders and he explains that
there are already three shifts filling these orders. Dylan comes in and
announces that he is leaving Spectra. Sally deduces that he is planning
to leave town with Jessica.

Ridge's Office
--------------

Ridge banters with the model he is fitting, remarking about Laila's
fabulous clothes. ( Too bad he was not more observant of Laila's eyes! )
James arrives and peers in. After Ridge finishes with the modification,
he tells the model to leave. James asks him about the incredible
adventure he had with Brooke. [ Yes, the trip to Morocco was exciting too.
8-) ] When Ridge mentions that they had wonderful dinners with the
Prince, James becomes curious and wonders why Laila did not join them.
Ridge remarks that Laila is strange because she refused to marry Omar
even though he had nursed her back to health. Furthermore, Ridge
describes the odd incident in which Laila took his hand, knelt down, and
kissed it and treated as though he was someone special.

Omar's Palace
-------------

Yasmine puts on the finishing touches on Taylor's wedding gown. Taylor
thanks her for praising her as the most beautiful woman in this palace [
Hmmm....was that before or after seeing Brooke? 8-) ] Although she does
not feel as beautiful as she look, she will play the part of the happy
princess. Taylor requests Yasmine to be her maid-of-honor and explains
that she will stand up for the bride during the ceremony. Hearing that
the maid-of-honor also represents the bride's closest confidant, Yasmine
gladly accepts this honor. Taylor reminds her to address her as "Laila"
and says she will need her help in the following weeks. Yasmine advises
her not to so pessimistic and expect trouble in her marriage. Taylor
agrees and declares that she should focus all her attention on the
children in the orphanage. Yasmine corrects her and says they should be
*part* of her life for Omar will not be a difficult man to learn how to
love.

Ahmet is still shocked that Laila has decided not to be recognized. He
admires Omar for marrying a woman with such strength and resolution. Omar
confesses that "he has never felt anything as deeply as the love he felt
for Laila and if she will herself to love him back, then he will indeed
be a fortunate man." But if she is unable to forget the memory of Ridge,
Omar would be "as tragic a figure as anyone who walked the earth."

But Omar switches moods and instead accentuates the positive. After all,
Laila has agreed on her own volition to marry him and he says it's obvious
she is determined to move on with her life. Ahmet hopes that she will
love him as all of the Moroccans do. Omar, however, hopes that Laila
will love him differently as the rest of his people. Both are amused by
this remark. Then Omar tells him that since the wedding ceremony will be
a blend of Western and Eastern traditions, he will need a best-man who is
also the groom's best friend. Omar chooses Ahmet but tells him that he
can't order him to do so unless he agrees to it. He is honored and
accepts graciously. Since Ahmet was at the hospital when the injured
Taylor arrived and nursed her back to health, Omar declares that it is
fitting that he should share this sacred day. He thanks Ahmet for
everything and hugs him.

Ridge's Office
--------------

Ridge and James are puzzled why Laila won't marry Omar. James suggests
that perhaps she is in love with someone else. Ridge states that he
never thought of that and hopes that this is not the reason for her
reluctance. ( Does anyone else see the irony in this statement? )
He then decides to call Omar and asks James to stay awhile.

Sally's Office
--------------

Sally warns Dylan not to run away because the law will track him down,
but he is confident that he can't be caught. When Sol is incredulous
that he and Jessica will live like fugitives, Dylan answers him that the
police won't be bothered to find him. Besides, he has no other choice
because he may be indicted for statutory rape. And the only way to see
Jessica is to leave L.A. Sally stops him and offers him her apartment as
a meeting place for the two young lovers. Then he calls Jessica to
arrange a meeting with her. Dylan thanks Sally but she has a worried
expression on her face.

Omar's Palace
-------------

Omar receives the call from Ridge who tells him that he is outside the
palace gate. Omar says "what!?" in disbelief, but Ridge assures him that
he is in L.A. He relates the great news that Laila will marry him. Ridge
departs with, "Promise me something, will you Omar? Give Laila our very
best." After he hangs up, Omar apologizes and says to himself this is one
promise he can't keep. Meanwhile, James seems disappointed about a
"feeling" he had.

Ahmet approaches Omar and announces that everything is ready. Then he
signals the musicians and they begin to play Moroccan music. The orphans,
dressed in brightly colored clothes, descended the stairs and flank both
sides of the entrance. Then four servants carrying candles appear and
take their places next to the children. And they are followed by three
flower girls. Finally Yasmine, holding a bouquet of flowers, arrives and
joyously announces Laila's arrival. Omar bows and looks anxiously for her
appearance.
