Bold and the Beautiful Update, Wednesday 16th November
RIDGE, THE SCENIC WONDER
On the Redeye back to LA, Ridge and Brooke are lounging languidly, Ridge
gazing out of the window and Brooke gazing at Ridge. He offers her the
window seat, but she says flirtatiously that the view she has is pretty
good (nudge nudge, etc). They banter affectionately back and forth,
talking about how keen they are to start their new lives and how they
miss the kids. They swear they'll never leave them again - it'll be the
"group rate or nothing" from now on. The conversation trickles around to
Prince Omar, and Ridge expresses his doubts that Layla really loves Omar
- something about the way she clutched his hand when they left unnerved
him. Brooke says jestingly that she probably didn't want him to leave.
Ridge bounces back from wondering, and ripostes, "Can you blame her?"
"No I can't," says Brooke adoringly. Kissing.
ALL THE LEMON TEA IN THE WORLD WON'T CLEAR THIS UP.
At Dr. Webb's office, Macy is impatient to leave and prepare for the tour
and rehearsals coming up, but Dr. Webb isn't keen for her to be so quick.
He tells her he wants to schedule more tests. When she protests, he
tells her frankly that threy have found an irregularity - her throat has
a swelling that could be due to infection - or to a tumour. Macy panics,
and insists he tel her the worst case scenario. He reluctantly admits
that there is a chane that she /might/ perhaps have throat cancer.
A SUSPICIOUS SITUATION
Eric is checking a dress in his office, and as he sends the model away
dissatisifed, Stephanie strides in, armed with the results of the
arraignment. Eric isn't wildly enthused to hear that the trial date is a
few weeks from now, predicting gloomily that it won't keep Dylan away
from Jessica. Then Stephanie tells him about the protective order: if
Dylan talks to or otherwise communicates with Jessica, his bond will be
rescinded and he'll be thrown in jail. Eric sighs - he regrest that it
has had to come to this. He asks after Jessica, and Stephanie says the
las sis upset. And so is she, but for different reasons. Then she breaks
the real nws of the arraignment: Dylan the impoverished student is being
defended by top-notvch, very expensive lawyer Connor Davis. Eric blinks.
A DEFIANT DYLAN
Back in Sally's office at Spectra, Dylan is storming about frothing with
maledictions against the LA municipal court, Stephanie, and the law
system in general. Connor tries to make him calm down as Sally sweeps
into the room. She asks what happened, and Dylan tells her in no
uncertain terms about the protective order. he's livid. Sally is
outraged, especially after Connor explains the full import of the order
being that Dylan cannot communicate with Jessica at all. "We'll see
about that!" snarls Dylan. "It's the law" cries an exasperated Connor.
"But it's unfair!" wails Dylan. Amidst the furor, Sally guesses that
Stephanie wa sbehind this, and Dylan grimly confirms her suspicions. But
Stephanie won't succeed! Dylan defiantly declares that there is no way
he is staying away from Jessica.
DR. WEBB'S OFFICE
Dr. Webb assures a frantic Macy that cancer is only one possibility, and
they will know as soon as they so a laryngostomy (sp?) - a quick,
painless procedure that they schedule for 9:30 am the next day.
BROOKE AS AGENT PROVOCATEUR
Back in Eric's office, Eric is incredulous. How on earth can Dylan afford
Connor Davis for counsel? He wonders if Connor took it as a vendetta, in
revenge for his own shabby treatment when he was Brooke's attorney during
her takeover of Forrester, but Stephanie dismisses that thought - Connor
won that, so there's no need for revenge. Eric decides to get brooke to
find out what it going on, and asks when she and Ridge are due home. He
and Stephanie chat about how great it will be to see them again -
Stephanie refraining from expressing any great desire to see Brooke.
BROOKE AND RIDGE RETURN
As the 'plane spirals in to land, Brooke and Ridge welcome each other
home, and kiss a lot.
LET ME RUIN MY OWN LIFE, DAMMIT!
back in Sally's ofice, Connor tells the frothing Dylan adamantly that if
he goes within 50 feet of Jessica he'll be back in jail. "They can't
know where we both are every hour of the day!" cries Dylan. Yes they
most certainly can, Connor assures him grimly, and Sally chimes in that
if he /does/ seek out Jessica, he'll just be playing right into
Stephanie's hands. Stephanie can afford private detectives to trail them
both, and can bug Jessica's phone - there's no limit to her
resourcefulness. Connor assures the steaming Dylan that although they've
lost the first round, this is just the start of the fight. Then Dylan
explodes, shouting that the first round has hit him between the eyes and
that he won't accept it - "They can draw their line in the sand but I'm
stepping over it! And if that means I end up in jail then so be it!" He
storms out, and both Sally and Connor sigh. Sally tells Connor
reassuringly that Dylan is young - he'll calm down. "He'd better," says a
grim, unamused Connor.
STAY POSITIVE, LASS
Dr. Webb explains the biopsy procedure to Macy, and when she asks in
desperation what will happen if she /does/ have throat cancer, he advises
her not to borrow trouble. He knows how important her singing career is
to her, but... But nothing! cries Macy, "Singing is my life!" Dr. Webb
assures her that he'll do all he can to put her back on the stage, but
Macy is worried his best won't be good enough. Dr. Webb advises her to
stay positive and just wait.
A VERY ODD CAKE
Back at the new Casa Forrester, Donna, Katie and the children are setting
the final touches to their preparations to a surprise welcome party for
Ridge and Brooke, the piece of honour being a luridly-iced cake featuring
a dark-haired man and blonde woman, both scantily clad, wrapped around
each other. Yes, well. Then they hear Ridge and Brooke making their way
up the path, and all dive behind the couch. Ridge and Brooke wander in,
and are puzzled not to see anyone waiting for them - and are awfully
dismayed when they find a note saying "We took the kids to Disneyland.
Expect us when you see us," from Donna and Katie. But before they have
time to be TOO miserable, someone behind the couch pops a balloon, and
the whole party bursts out from behind the couch, cheering and welcoming
them home.
NOSTALGIA
Back in Eric's office, Eric sighs at Stephanie reluctance to welcome
Brooke back home, and tells her she's her daughter-in-law now. Stephanie
mutters that she'll never get used to that, but will try. She then
confides, surprisingly, that she's actually decided to offer her an olive
branch. Eric, relieved, says she'll be better off for it, and Stephanie
responds pertly that she's not doing it for her own benefit, but for
Ridge's. "Everything for the kids," says Eric, smiling, "And some things
for their dad," she responds, equally playful. And speaking of which,
how is Sheila? Eric tells her that they went for their first counselling
session with James, and reaffirms his determination to end the marriage.
"One marriage ends, another begins," muses Stephanie. Eric then mentions
that he'll rather miss the extra time he's spent with Eric Jr., when
Brooke and Ridge return. But he's sure that the children will be
ecstatic to see Brooke and Ridge again. They then both begin to
reminisce about how excited their own children used to be when they got
back from a long trip, affectionate and nostalgic.
ET EGO IN ARCADIA
Back in Ridge and Brooke's new home, little Eric and Bridget are bouncing
up and down, looking incredibly adorable, very over-excited and talking
about how they planned the party. Eric is frightfully proud that he came
up with the idea for the balloons. Eventually the sweet little things
dash off to examine their new presents, and Donna and Katie get down to
questioning Ridge and Brooke about Prince Omar. They tell them about
him, and mention the beautiful, mysterious Layla, and Ridge gets up and
walks a little away from the family party, looking troubled. He is still
wondering about the way she kissed his hand when he left. However,
before he can get too wrapped up in his unsettled thoughts, the kids
bounce back, for hugs and attention, and everyone laughs and rejoices
generally over the restored togetherness.

And there you go. :)
