Mmmmm........Greg Beecroft. Now THAT's what we need back on GL. Tony
Reardon. What could he do? He would have the pants off Beth in about 10
seconds. I loved him as Tony and loved him again - maybe even more - as
Brock Lombard on ATWT.

I think the last thing I saw him in was on Melrose Place where the
played one of Matt's lovers. He tried to frame Matt for the murder of
his wife, played by Dana Sparks, who I believe is on Passions. He may
have done something since then, but that's the last time I recall
seeing him on screen.
Anthony
That was David Beecroft, Greg's brother.
KC
Really? My bad.
Anthony
Breen is sick, isn't he. He has AIDS or HIV?
the other Niki
They really do look alike, though. Apparently, after Melrose Place,
David was on Dr. Quinn several times. It doesn't look like Greg's done
anything, or at least anything that IMDB knows about. Maybe he does
theater these days.
KC
I think that's why he left ATWT.

I think I remember something in one of the soap magazines about Lucinda
being a bit angry because she had some love scenes with Breen and she
didn't know he was ill. I think at that time there was some question on the
many different ways AIDS was contacted. Also seems like there was something
about open mouth kissing.
She was angry with him. She said people said she should have compassion for
him. She said, "Well, what about him having compassion for me?!" I did not
like her attitude at that time. His mother used to be on this forum and give
periodic updates about his health.

I remember I had a crush on Beecroft and I was a big fan of Breen's.

He played contract parts on both Guiding Light and Loving before being
offered his most front-burner role to date: that of Lisa's long-lost son,
Scott Eldridge, on As the World Turns. He started on As the World Turns in
1991, while he was still making appearances as another character on Loving.
In 1993, the sponsor of the show, Procter & Gamble, was very unhappy when
word leaked to the tabloids (most notably the National Enquirer) that Breen
had AIDS. He was forced to tell his castmates that the rumors were true. The
setside rumors were that P&G wanted Breen to voluntarily leave the show, and
when he wouldn't, he was forced to tape many scenes in which he was scantily
clad. Reportedly, taping the scenes made him uncomfortable as both his
muscle and body fat had already begun the process of atrophy, and it was at
this time that he left.
In 1995, Breen was interviewed in a television miniseries titled The
Celluloid Closet, which described the portrayals of homosexuals in film and
television.
While he is still living, he has chosen to keep a lower profile as of late.

What part of the show is he supposed to be in? I don't recall his being in
it. Just ran through the DVD & didn't find him. Looking through the Special
Features, but, ...

That's because the Joseph Breen interviewed in "The Celluloid Closet"
is not the same person as the soap actor Joseph Breen.

Oops, I prematurely sent...
Let me try this again:
That's because the Joseph Breen interviewed in "The Celluloid Closet"
is not the same person as the soap actor Joseph Breen. In the 30s,
there was a movie executive named Joseph Breen:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1033952/
He died in 1965, but the movie used archive footage of him.
