At the end of today's show there was a PSA
and I saw a nano-second of Luke & Noah about to say something.

Can someone briefly explain for me?
I am wondering if it was regarding acceptance of gays,
or was directed toward ethnically diverse cultures?
Or both?

Just wondering.
Thanks!

It was a message about teaching and practicing tolerance

Van Hansis (Luke): Intolerance, bigotry and hate can lead to violent
and often deadly consequences.

Jake Silbermann (Noah): Practice and teach acceptance, kindness and
understanding.

CBS Cares. (-sounded like Van Hansis on that part, not sure)

Thanks to both of you.
Shame on Global Television for cutting it off.

It should be on the CBS.COM site.

I am about to download the episode off the web so it might be on the
download version as well.

And don't forget dancing together on New Years.

At least they didn't forget that couple when the New Year began.

And, not at home, or anywhere else by themselves, but out at a bar, in
public!

Might Michael (Rthrquiet) be referring to the Michael Zaslow debacle
here?? THAT'S who *I* first thought of when I read the PSA and then
Michael's "irony" comment.

Yes, it was just a regular love fest on good ol' ATWT, wasn't it?

Where was the kiss in the hospital room? Their last scene called for,
and should have ended in, a kiss.

Still ironic, Donna. Sorry.

THAT surprised me that not a single person in a straight bar was
looking but was good to see.
Many bars wouldn't be such the case but on that particular night, I'm
glad to see the situation ran 100% smoothely.

Not exactly the prom dance Brian Kinney gave Justin Taylor on "Queer
As Folk"....
...but then that's a whole other show.

The NUKE dance was sweet, touching and I loved it.

I think it's proof the producer's weren't as bad on the couple as many
were making out to be about the kiss situation.

We were given NUKE on every single holiday this year despite Van's
hectic Theatre play schedule and even managed to squeeze them in both
the dollhouse Christmas episode and the Snyder farm mistletoe
episode. The show could have ignored them on at least one holiday
this past year but it seems they purposely did not knowing their
popularity.

I think Van's roadtrip pecks on Noah's forehead/cheeks kind of
diffuses the kiss situation a bit.
Like I said in the other post, it wasn't the same hot steamy NUKE
kisses we saw last year. However, it's not the same avoid the cheeck
to dodge the person walking behind them situation either.

In this case, they could have had Luke avoid kissing Noah in the truck
because Ameera was waking up but instead we got a total of at least 5
kisses from Luke on Noah's face out of the scenes.

I think the 5 or so forehead/cheek pecks could be considered at least
one NUKE kiss enough to make this their 4th NUKE kiss:

1. Luke fixing Noah's tie getting ready for Noah to meet his father
and Maddie
2. When Colonel Mayer catches Luke and Noah kissing.
3. the Christmas mistletoe scene (we were cut from it but Luke & Noah
did kiss)
4. Luke kissing on Noah's forehead cheeks inside the truck during
their RoadTrip

If anyone remembers any more NUKE kisses that I don't recall, please
add them to the list.

#1 romantic scene on a TV show ever.

I am approaching the end of Season 1 but am so loving this TV series.
I refuse watching them on the "I" network since they are cut versions.

Sharon Gless is absolutely amazing in this TV series.
All of the characters were given great definition and each actor
shined in each of their roles. At first, I didn't think I could ever
get in to these characters but this series allows it early on.

I don't think the lesbian couple, Melanie and Lindsay were shown as
much as they should have been in Season 1 but perhaps they are later.

And you are right. This dance between two gay men was handled far
more better than most heterosexual dances are on television.

It's just too bad what happened to one of them after the prom.

I guess our Noah was lucky on the road trip compared to their Justin
after the prom.

Looking forward to the rest of the seasons.

First, let me clarify that I was referring mostly to Noah's comment
than I was referring to Luke's scripted line. That said, I*M*VHO, CBS
sounds a little hypocritical when they say something like, "Practice
and teach acceptance, kindness and understanding.", given their track
record with the Zaslow debacle.

You can argue that it was P&G and not CBS that created that despicable
mess, but CBS was an accomplice, IMNSHO. They could have easily
distanced themselves from MADD and her idiocy by putting out a
statement; having someone appear at the end of the show to say "The
idiocy displayed by the executive in charge of production at PROCTER
AND GAMBLE in no way reflects CBS' values and beliefs when it comes to
employing a person with a disabling condition."; etc.. They chose
not to, and now they come out with THIS ("Practice and teach
acceptance, kindness and understanding.", not to mention "CBS
Cares")??? It's a crock of shit.

CBS' silence, IMNSHO, spoke VOLUMES to me, a person with a
disability. If people think that people with disabilities want to
work for an employer like P&G or CBS, what with the kind of attitude
they displayed during the Zaslow debacle, then you are seriously
mistaken.
