More on the original Jill

The original Jill was Brenda Dixon. She was replaced by Debra Adair for a
while, but then reprised her role as Jill to fight with Dina Mergeron over
John Abbott. Ultimately, Jess Walton took over.>>
Actually it is Brenda Dickson----no "x". She was on the show even before Kaye
Chancellor ever began. As a matter of fact, Kaye did not come on until about 6
months to a year after the show began only to be involved in Jill's beautician
storyline. When the show moved to an hour around 1980, Brenda Dickson, David
Hasselhoff, Jaime Lyn Baur, & many other major stars decided to part the soap.
Another actress took over the role of Jill but she only lasted a month or so.
Then Bonds Gideon then took over the role of Jill for about 6 months. Then
Debra Adair took over the role & by then Bill Bell was so frustrated with the
constant recasting that he almost did away with the character altoghther
realizing that there would never be another actress to play Jill like Brenda
Dickson could. Nothing was working. However Debra Adair stuck with the role
longer than the previous 2 actresses---so Bell began extending the part more &
waa-laa---she entered a major storyline by marrying into the Abbott clan.
Debra spent 3 years on the show then landed a role on nighttime TVs Dynasty.
She left Y&R & once again Bill Bell was stuck at now having to recast Jill in
the midst of having Jill in a major storyline. So the name of the original
actress came up. Bell contacted Brenda & she returned to the show as Jill for
3 more years. Brenda developed some health problems---which many say made her
become irrate & difficult on the set. Brenda & Bell went head to head with
each other---& guess who won? After being fired, Brenda slapped a lawsuit on
Bell for firing her because of a health condition which was mentioned when
Brenda appeared on the Oprah Show---but never heard any more about it. It was
either settled out of court or dropped altogether. After Brenda was let go,
Jess Walton took over the role of Jill. Then after 8 months of being off the
show---the fans loved Brenda so much that she not only got nominated for a Soap
Opera Digest Award---but actually even won the award all from fans voting for
her---when she had not even appeared on the show in almost a whole year. Even
she was completely amazed when she gave the speech.
Now---years later---she found herself a rich older man(-sound familiar) and
married him. They live in Hawaii together.
Now the story gets even better. About a year ago, Brenda is inside a
restaurunt in Chicago with her newlywed hubby and she is sitting there
recalling the last time she was in that very restauraunt many years ago with
Bill Bell re-signing to return to the role of Jill when Debra Adair left. She
said the memories were so vivid about when she was with Bell so long ago---&
then her heart nearly dropped. Bill Bell came to her & her husband's table and
actually spoke to them. He just happened to be in that same very restaurant at
the exact same time they were. Talk about Dejavu !! He met her husband, they
had a pleasant visit.
So that's about it in a nutshell.
(From a previous fan of Brenda's. I got a autographed beautiful portrait from
her when she was on the show---also--a signed birthday card from Jeanne
Cooper--as well as Terry Lester. Kept them all. Thanks)

Didn't the woman who now plays Kate on DOOL (can't remember her name... I
think her last name is Polish) also play Jill for a while? I thought I
remembered her playing the role either before or after Adair.

Lauren Koslow plays Kate now on DOOL, but it was originated by Deborah Adair.
Koslow was also on Y&R, but played Lindsay Welles, who took pictures of Jack
and Jill (Adair, IIRC) and blackmailed him.

She played the photographer Lindsey(sp?) who I believe was involved with
Jack. She was also the one who took those infamous photos of Jack and Jill
having sex which I think caused John's first heart attack.
She also played Margo on B&B.
