Since he's stalking Craig and asking Johnny if Craig is a good father,
it seems likely that he'll turn out to be the product of one of
Craig's past relationships, though I can't imagine who. In order for
this kind of story to work, we'd need to have a woman who left town
right after their relationship went south.
According to SoapCentral's Who's Who for Craig, below, I don't see any
likely candidates. If Gabriel is 16-18, he'd have been born in
1992-1996, when Craig was off the show, so they could say that he had
some affair. It just seems pointless at this late date.

Lucinda Walsh (Lovers)

Emily Stewart (Lovers)

Carly Tenney (engaged)
Rosanna Cabot (engaged)

What about that baby that Rosanna and someone had? I think his name was
Cabot and he was taken by James Stenbeck. Today I almost thought that he
might be involved someway with the investor person. I like him and wish
there was more time to get to know him.
Yeah, it does seem kinda pointless, but doesn't nearly everything that
isn't wrapping up some major storyline? They always said the reason
Craig & Sierra broke up is that Craig had many, many affairs, right?
So Gabriel could easily be the result of that. He looks like he could
be from Montega anyway. Kind of like that boxer guy friend of Lucy's
who grew up in Montega.
I like him though, so I hope he doesn't turn out to be wicked.
I thought about Cabot (who'd only be about 6 years old, but I know,
IOAS), but Cabot only knew Craig as a baby and there's no biological
connection, so I'm not sure what the motivation would be. Cabot's
biological parents were Jordan Sinclair and a woman Jordan didn't even
remember.
If anything, a teenage Cabot would be more interested in finding out
about Paul or Henry, who would be his uncles. I think asking Johnny if
Craig's a good father is the significant thing, with Gabriel possibly
feeling that Johnny is getting the life he should have gotten. I'm
just not sure I believe Cabot would feel that way, since he was too
young to even remember Craig. And with Rosanna off the show, a Cabot
reveal would be empty.
I just don't understand the need to introduce new characters at this
point.
KC
I think that's the most likely scenario, since his last name sounded
"Montegan".
I noted in the other post that Gabriel turning out to be Cabot would
be empty with Rosanna off the show, likewise, Gabriel turning out to
be the result of one of these affairs would resonate so much more if
Sierra was around. Or Lucy.
At this point, the only motivations for introducing Gabriel seem to be
either Craig answering for his past (there are much worse things he
has to answer for, IMO, that will be never be addressed), or Faith
getting a happy ending (which we'd care more about if they hadn't
recast the role).
It's early in the story, but this business of Gabriel spying on Craig
for Carly could have been accomplished by bringing JJ home (now a bit
of a bad seed from having been at boarding school!) and having him
interacting with Faith and working at Monte Carlo. Frankly, there'd be
more tension with Parker and JJ being at odds over helping or enabling
Faith.
But, I like this young actor, too, so I hope it plays out well,
whatever they have in mind.

Ain't that the truth? I just started watching ATWT again, KC. I
watched at the beginning of Nuke, but I never watched anything else,
particularly anything Carly- or Paul-related. But I started again this
week because of the Reed/Luke scenes, which I have enjoyed a lot. I'm
guessing that since the show has been canceled, the suits are
*finally* letting the writers do their job.
Yesterday, for the first time since the mid-90s, I watched an entire
episode of ATWT that had no gay storyline or characters in it, and I
found it strangely compelling. I've even watched Carly in a few
episodes. I have to watch today, obviously, as it is Kim and Bob's
25th anniversary (how old is Chris, though?). The show is everything
Y&R is not, beginning with logical. I may watch every day now until
the end.
One story I'm liking in particular is Molly-Holden-Lily. Somehow,
Molly, whom I have always loathed, is a very sympathetic character.
The scenes with her and Holden and Lily, when Lily asked Molly to help
her find Faith, were just top shelf stuff. I can only assume that this
is what it's like when writers are allowed to write without
interference from knownothings.
I sure hope they're being so logical they bring Andy back for his
mother and Bob's anniversary. And could they please recast Andy
Kavovit as Paul?

Welcome back!

I think Molly is more palatable for you because she has grown up.
She's fully aware of the "always" nature of Holden and Lily and
watching her try to nurture a relationship that she fears will end
regardless of what she does is heartbreaking (since there's a very
good chance that the show will insist on a Lilden reunion in the end).

I think if Andy was going to return, it would have been for Bob &
Kim's "35th" ;-). I'll still hold out a bit of hope that he'll make a
brief appearance, but I honestly don't think it's going to happen.
Recasting Paul most certainly isn't going to happen, but I'm right
there with you on how wonderful that would be. I'd actually prefer
Scott Holroyd in the role at this point, as much as I loved Kavovit in
the role. Scott played the only believable version of an adult Paul,
so I could see him more in scenes with Emily and Meg and the chemistry
between Scott and Colleen was great.

Kim has gone as long as cheekbone length:

Barbara had long hair (a wig) as Bianca, during that previous life
storyline in the 80s and I believe we saw Kim with long hair during
flashbacks of her lounge singer days during the Douglas Cummings
storyline.
But, generally, these two women know what style works for them and
have stuck to it. Hays is almost 77 and Pinter is 57 and I can only
*dream* of looking that good when I get to that age.
KC
thanks, I knew you would know that. Both women are exceptionally beautiful.
I remember Kim from some old Star Treks on tv. Barbara has the classic
beauty and Kim the unusual beauty.
Kathryn Hayes was in the Star Trek episode "The Empath" where her
character did not have the ability to speak, so they had to have an
actress with an expressive face.

Hays' performance is polarizing. I've seen people say that they were
intrigued by her, even mesmerized and others who find her performance
laughable. No one disputes how utterly gorgeous she was, though.
Also, Marj Dusay appeared in "Spock's Brain" (wow, was she beautiful,
too):

And remember Mary Linda Rapeleye, who played ATWT's Maggie Crawford?
She appeared in "The Way to Eden" as Chekov's old girlfriend:

I actually think she looks better now:

On a non-CBS note, Louis Sorel (Vivian on DOOL) played Rayna in
"Requiem for Methuselah" where Kirk falls in love with her, not
knowing she's an android and Spock has to do a mind-meld-ish "forget"
to get him past it. She was just lovely.

Michael Zaslow appeared in "The Man Trap".

Of course, many soap stars appeared in later Trek shows.
KC
When I get caught up with all my tv watching I guess I am going to have to
rent some old star treks. I had no idea so many of 'our' people had been on
star trek.

Michelle Forbes (ex Sonni/Solita, GL) did a few eps of ST: TNG,
Elizabeth Dennehy (ex Blake, GL) did several also. Lots of "our"
people and lots of soap people in general. My theory has always been
that because sci-fi shows spend a good portion of time on special
effects (or did back in the day), they needed actors who just walk on
and hit their marks with little rehearsal. Soap actors are well
equipped to handle that task.
