Thx Cheri,

A few folks have been after me to do this for a couple weeks now so I
had a buddy of mine film me yesterday with his i-phone (I don't have one
of those so I had no idea how do this). The Stones music was a bit loud
and drowned out my voice in parts....c'est la vie. It's important that
everyone donate to this cause, however. I was trying to think of
someone from RATSC to nominate...and thought of Big Z.

Hope all is well with everyone here.

I just donated last week... just wasn't brave enough. Cool, that you did this. ;)
Some of us are old Guiding Light fans and I remember, when Michael Zaslow, Roger Thorpe became ill with ALS. He was my favorite villain.

Reading this made me want to see Michael Zaslow again, and find out how
long he lived after his diagnosis and departure from soaps. I found this
video of his Daytime Emmy win for Male Lead Actor in 1994. Although he
looks fine in this video, data from Google said he died in 1998, only 4
yrs. later.

For anyone who has been watching soaps for 20 years, you may enjoy
seeing all the nominees and their video clips for that year. This was
back when they produced a decent show for the daytime awards.

Edit: This should have said ... all "male leading actor" nominees are
in that clip. :)

I didn't watch GL, but I do remember him from OLTL. I was
always thrilled when they'd have him (as his character)
playing classical piano pieces. <sigh>

Those who watched OLTL also know that they hired MZ back
when he was in his wheelchair near the end. He still
could act even in that condition just with his eyes and
the little facial expression he could manage to do.

Nyssa, who misses both MZ and OLTL

Wonderful clip... am I the only one fighting tears watching this. Where did the time go?

Thanks for posting the link.

Yes, thanks so much for that link, especially on a soap-free day (US
Open on CBS)

Thanks for the bit of nostalgia. I love it.

It makes the absolute, nauseating, disgusting horror that was the
online Daytime Emmys this year seem even worse now.
