SID (3/31/08):
Wesley Ramsey is returning as Sam Spencer. His agent Michael Bruno
says Ramsey is open to the possibility of staying longer.
===
This is intriguing to me. I "met" Ramsey on "Latter Days", which was
an independent film about the unlikely love story of a West Hollywood
party boy (out and proud, played by Ramsey) and a closeted Mormon
missionary, Steve Sandvoss.
It was a powerfully affecting film...one I think that would affecting
for straight and gay audiences alike.
Ramsey was a revelation. The film was a bit formulaic in places...but
it was very heartfelt. You can "youtube" scenes to get a feeling for
what I mean.
So, to see this interesting actor RETURN to daytime is intriguing to
me. I gather that his 'sister' Olivia is having a very emotional
storyline AND is about to lose one of her scene partners (Gus). So,
this could also lead to a very nice storyline that is classic soap.
The brother returns home to the dying sister...
Last week, it was reported that Ramsey, Brody Hutzler, Adrian Bellani
and...someone else...were auditioning for a new role on OLTL
(returning Navy SEAL). It looks like Ramsey didn't get that job...but
that he wants to be back in daytime. Maybe this is one of the
(audience) benefits of the WGA strike?
Oh my god, this is wonderful!! I love Sam. And, Wes.

Yes, I liked him in that & liked that movie very much. I went out of my way
to watch him in CHARMED even after I was no longer watching it, too. He's
very talented.

Yeah, dying is emotional, I'd say. And, of course, Crystal is playing every
moment to perfection.

Never seen him. Must have been on on one of my GL off-times.

Here's a short clip of him with Brittany Snow as Daisy, after her

I lot of us thought he looked a bit like a young Michael Zaslow.

One thing I definitely remember: he can act. There was the triangle,
Tony (Jordi V)-Marah (Lindsey M)-Sam (Wes R), and it apparently wasn't
working, and I remember being furious that they decided to drop the
only one of the three who could really act.
Michael
Agreed... that video clip doesn't show it, but he was good. He reminded
me of Zaslow too. I'm really looking forward to his return.

If you think he can act, PLEASE go to Youtube and click on some
"Latter Days" "Wesley Ramsey" clips.

Well, I always thought he looked like a young relative of Roger Thorpe. <G>
Hard to find clips that really show off his acting, though. I've been trying
to find some from CHARMED. Unfortunately, so many are fan-made music vids,
but, anyway:

Yeah, I had a horrible time trying to find something. He really is so
natural, subtle, that I think people didn't get how talented he is. He
made it look too easy, maybe. I hope people will take a peek at GL
when he arrives, though. If they give him some good stuff to play, he
might be able to cause a real spark. A Pelphrey-sized spark, perhaps,
with the right material? I'd love to find out.

Why is Daisy still the same age now? LOL
Wes looks a bit like early Ryan Reynolds in that clip.

Seriously, of course, Daisy there is probably 13. Who is Ryan Reynolds?

Ahhhh, I used to watch Charmed for a bit. Leo's son? I faintly remember him.
Uh, nice bod.
I wonder if he supposed to fill the TP void? I mean, there's only one TP, but
I'm starting to connect the dots.

Actor, mostly movies.

If you like his body...
When Wes and Steve Sandvoss were in Latter Days, they really touched
the heart of photographer Tom Clarke. Clarke himself is...like the
movie subjects...a gay, excommunicated Mormon.
http://www.tomsbodypix.com/Bio_2.html
Since Latter Days was an independent film, Tom offered to donate a
raft of publicity photos for them.
The photo series are at:
http://www.tomsbodypix.com/Wes_Ramsey.html
http://www.tomsbodypix.com/Steve_Sandvoss.html
What was the Y&R relevance?
Now, it turns out that photographer Clarke was/is a long-term friend
of Judith Chapman, and they lived in the same building in Hollywood.
During that era, Clarke took some amazing photos of Judith, and also
tells some interesting tales:
http://www.tomsbodypix.com/Judith_Chapman.html
He's done the most fascinating photoessay on her too:
http://www.tworoadsdiverged.com/Judith.html
I personally "met" Judith in the early 80s, when she played Charlotte
on Ryan's Hope. She looked not so different from some of those pics
on Clarke's site. And she TOOK MY BREATH AWAY. Those eyes...one of
the most beautiful women I'd ever scene...supernaturally beautiful,
especially with those haunting blue eyes.

Thanks, Mark. Thanks, Donna.
Since you said you were gonna do it, and I contemplated doing
it...let's just do it.
Ping RH.
If you look up this thread, you'll see a nice set of links about
Judith Chapman...older pics, and stories too.
There are also links to pictures of well built men, but since they are
not on soaps you watch, I don't think you should click those.
Oh, you made me laugh again, Mark.

Daisy/Susan was born in 1987, so she should be 21 now, but that wasn't
going to work with a story that involved juvie and teen sex and all
that "as long as you're under my roof" type of dialogue.
When she came to town in 1998, she was about 11. When she left in
2001, she was 15. When they brought her back last year, they sort of
had to make her only a year or so older, because I don't think they
wanted to give the impression that she'd been out of town for 6 years.
In a couple of years, they will subtly add a year or two, so that she
will be drinking age when they decide to give her a story about being
an alcoholism story or something. ;-)
KC
Wes didn't have the kind of material that Tom had, so it's hard to
know if he has the same level of talent, but I think it's possible.
I'd like to see him get that kind of material and see what he's got.
Also, it gives Olivia some balance. Ava's all the way over to the dark
side now, she doesn't even hesitate or question the ethics of what she
does. Olivia needs Sam around, he's the only one who's ever been able
to tell her when she's gone too far.
I just hope they don't try to pair Sam with Daisy again,as a Rafe
spoiler, because the age difference is too great now. Actually, the
only non-relative girls on the show in his age range are Lizzie and
Marina. I'd like him to develop a buddy relationship with Coop, ala
Rick and Phillip. That would put him in proximity to Ashley and I
could see Wes and Caitlin being great in scenes together.
