Y&R: Abby's father

Ashley has now said for all of us to hear that Victor Newman is Abby's
father. But how did she do it? I must have missed something back when
the ladies were playing musical sperm samples because I do not remember
Ashley being involved. Can anyone sort this out for me?

Well the people on this board have known Victor was the father for a very
long time.

We don't know exactly what happened. And the writers can adapt things
however they want. But what we BELIEVE is that it happened when Ashley
went on her cruise. She told people that she met someone (Christian) and
that he was the father. It was later revealed that she made that up.

The key was the big mystery surrounding her
layover in Chicago. She insisted on it, which at the time was very
suspicous.

We figure that Ash took the sperm (they showed her still having the
key to Victor's apartment. And then she must have had a doctor artifically
inseminate her with it in Chicago.

I still don't really understand why she wanted Victor to be the father. I
mean even if she was hoping that they would get back together. She
couldn't possibly have thought that he would have been happy that she
stole his sperm.

It'll be interesting to see Victor's reaction to Ashley stealing his
sperm to father her child as compared to what his reaction was to Diane
who did the same.

Since it's his *beloved* Ashley, will he just say "That's OK my
sweetheart"...."I understand why you did it". And John Abbott will say
"That's OK my beauty"...."I understand why you did it". And Brad's
reaction.."What WERE you thinking!!!!!!!!!!!"

Didn't the sperm mix up happen some time later?

I guess the whole thing doesn't really make that too much sense. I mean
did Ashley only take a little bit of the sperm and then leave the rest for
Diane to steal? ;)

pleased. So we know that whatever else, he won't be pleased.

Daine wanted Victor's child, but at some point the lab replaced the
vial containing Victor;s sperm with Jack's in error. It's all very
Abbott and Costello as in "Whose onfirst, what's on second."

Here's how I remember the chain of events. Way before the sperm was
'officially' stolen out of the apt., Ashley broke in with the key she
found and took enough to impregnate herself. Once Nikki found out about
Diane's plan, she 'officially' stole the sperm and had it returned to
Robertson Labs. At some point, she hired a guy to break into Robertson
and switch the sample so Diane wouldn't bear Victor's child.

Ashley's taking of the sperm had only to do with herself. Not anyone
else and their motives.
