I don't consider Morrow the "worst", but I think Shattuck may be the
single worst *recast* in soap opera history.

Best actor's gotta be Christian LeBlanc (who was picked by Heather Tom
to be stranded on a deserted island with).
My favorite actress is Melody Thomas Scott.

If there were any flaming doubts that you are clueless when it comes to judging
acting ability, this post of yours should completely extinguish them.
Lonnie...isn't that a Latin word for "thick"?

I've complained often about little Bryant Jones, who plays Nate. I found
him to be an unusually stilted and untalented child actor, even while I felt
terrible saying it b/c he seems to be such a nice kid off-screen, well-liked
by his colleagues on the show, as well as a child who has been through an
awful lot lately (the untimely death of his 30-year-old father to leukemia,
and having to act out the death of his on-screen father shortly thereafter).
But he seems to finally be coming into his own as an actor--gone is the
wooden delivery, as well as the blank stares. He can actually say his lines
now with some conviction, and he shows emotion with a lot more believability
than before. So I give him a "Most Improved" standing for now.
I do agree with your "bests," though. Michelle Stafford and Christian
LeBlanc are, far and away, the outstanding actors on this show. I was
dismayed to find out recently that Stafford is a Scientologist--what a
letdown. I'm gonna try to just concentrate on her powerhouse performances
(who can forget that belly dance she did for Danny years ago?) and not her
personal life. As far as Miguel, I would be much happier if he weren't
portrayed as a lackey to the much-hated Newmans. When the writers did deign
to give the man a life of his own outside of his "yes, Massa Newman"
persona, he wound up in love with a psycho. That'll teach him to try to be
independent--after that, it was back to "Can I get you anything else before
I go to the store, Mrs. Newman?" Of course, Miguel is the only sane and
moral individual in that entire household, so he gets props for that. But
that man needs to let loose and trash the place, writing "Suckas!" on the bi
g mirror in Mistress Newman's ruby red lipstick.

I wouldn't say he's the worst, but he's right up there. I give him a
break because he's a kid. Maybe he'll get better someday.
It's hard to choose the worst actors, because there have been so many.
Recently, the first Diego comes to mind. His acting was so wooden and
completely without emotion. NuMac has sucked from Day 1, although I
don't know if it's her acting or the way the character is written.
Further back, I agree with whomever said Josh Landers. He was bad with
a capital "B". I don't think that Shari Shattuck was a horrible actor,
I just think that she was a poor choice for the role of Ashley.
> Best actor - the guy that plays Michael Baldwin, the woman who plays

Agreed. And I'd add Peter Bergman. He is my fave.
> and
> the guy who plays Miguel
You're joking about Miguel, right? He proved in his storyline with
Veronica, that his acting stinks. He's best sticking with lines like
"Yes, Mrs. Newman" and that's about it.
Oh, and I have to get my shot in at the Bug :) Her acting is just
awful. You'd think that after all these years on the show, she'd be
able to put a little emotion into her acting. She delivers all her
lines in monotone and seems to only show a spark when she's being
sanctimonious and supeior to someone.
chenders
The Bug - well she has improved over the years because she sucked
in the beginning. Does anyone remember how PAINFUL those first
few scenes were eons ago with Michael Damian? Oh God they were
incredibly painful to watch because both actors were pathetic. Over
the years she got "slightly" better but I still cringe when I think of the
"touring" years when she took time away from her busy studies for
the bar exam to follow her husband around on tour and he would
sing to her. My husband actually walked in on one of those scenes
and started roaring because Damian was SO BAD, and Cricket
was worse.
So by comparison to the early years, she has gotten better.
